Which CFB team (not in the SEC) is your team’s doppelgänger?

Closest team and fanbase that resembles your team, historically, fanbase, etc.
For instance, Texas A&M = Clemson
Ag school
Cultish following
Several natties
Over-inflated sense of self worth
Despised by most

I mean, Clemson deliberately copied Aubbie’s mascot and colors. Probably those 2.

I guess Kansas, UL or UNC. It's the closest I can think of. Not saying IU for reasons.

I think UNC is a good comparable for Kentucky (football.) Always good for a nice run every few years.

Bama = New York Yankees

That must make Nick Saban like George Steinbrenner. Now that he's gone, you'll enter a very long period of making it close but never winning it all.

I don't have much to base it on outside of uni style but Ole Miss and UCLA have always had a weird connection in my brain

I always heard Clemson referred to as "Auburn with a lake"
For Alabama, I would say Oklahoma. Both have numerous conference titles, national titles, Heisman winners, and similar colors.

For Auburn it’s definitely Clemson.
Both are Tigers.
Both have Orange as a color.
Both football programs started by John Heisman.
Both very politically conservative by large state school standards.
Both have a clock tower that looks like Auburn’s Samford Hall though Clemson’s is a poor man’s version.

UF and the last decade of Texas were pretty similar. Still brought in the talent, struggled to win due to shite coaches. A few good seasons here and there.
Now I guess I'd say USC. Not bringing the talent we used to, middling coaching, no light at the end of the tunnel.

Whichever one has the second worst OC in football. Because we have the absolute worst.

Until recently, I probably would have considered Oklahoma as Alabama's doppelganger.
Similar colors
Tons of titles
Tons of wins
Historically great coach
Now, though, I'm not sure Alabama has one...?

I’ve always viewed Auburn, Clemson, and Purdue as similar. Large land grant state universities that don’t use the State name.
As far as uniforms go, UT-Martin copied Auburn’s colors and uniforms. TN Tech copied LSU.

Aggie is unique, the schools I’d most liken them to are clem and vatech, the main difference is Clem/tech don’t have the little bro syndrome that their in state big bro casts over them. Tech/clem have dispatched their big bros at most every opportunity the gridiron provides.
