Which Auburn Iron Bowl win was more improbable, 2013 or 2019?

I'm watching the 2013 Kick Six game now and Bama just went up 21-7 with 4 minutes left in the 2nd Q and I'm wondering how this didn't turn into a blowout. The McCarron-Norwood connection, that stable of RBs... However, 2013 Auburn had an awesome offense whereas 2019's really struggled against good competition so I'm going to say 2019 was a little more unlikely

What? Bama was playing its second string QB in 2019. In 2013, they were going for a 3-peat and seemed unbeatable. 2013 was way more unlikely. This is a dumb thread.

The 2019 iron bowl was effectively an exhibition. The 2013 iron bowl was a quarter/semifinal game.

Auburn got 14 points from their defense in 2019.
Strange shite happens when Alabama goes to the Plains.

not sure how "improbable" either were. In 2013 and 2019 Auburn played toe-to-toe with bama for 59+ minutes.
The 1972 IB was improbable.

Agreed. The end of 2013 was improbable. The outcome and the game weren't. 2019 wasn't either.
2002 was somewhat improbable. Not that it took loads of luck, but given the circumstances it certainly seemed unlikely leading up to the game.

Bama has Mac starting. Vs a top defense on the ROAD.
I believe in the 2013 season auburn was number 4 in the country. So it wasn’t improbable for them to win especially on their own turf. But bama had heathy qb with a pretty good defense. So I go with 2013

2010,2013,2014 were all insane games. It’s truly the best rivalry

I had more confidence going in to the game of Auburn winning in 2013 than in 2019. I get what the OP is saying.

Are you seriously asking if the game that resulted in the wildest play in cfb history was more improbable than a game that had no division implications?

Punt Bama Punt 1972
Auburn blocks two punts to win 17-16
Same person blocked it and same person retrieved it and ran in for a touchdown.

2013 - nobody was really sure how good Auburn was. They'd clearly been on fire, but they'd needed a crazy fluke TD on 4th and 100 to beat an average UGA team a few weeks prior. They then proved against us that they were, in fact, a very very good team.
2019 was an upset but it wasn't even all that surprising given the circumstances.

Given the circumstances?..... tell us what these poor, pitiful conditions.were.
And Saban lost to true freshman Bo Nix.

This, lightening did strike twice in same place, same man blocked both punts, same man had it bounce in his hands with no Bama player between him and endzone. Dead run if I remember correctly.

The first road start for a new QB against a great defense in an intense environment? It would have been a tough game even with Tua - the game in Auburn always is.
We were a team with a very good offense led by an elite QB tagged with a very young and inexperienced defense. As I said, Auburn would have challenged us at their place even with a healthy Tua. So, replace him with a guy who has never played a meaningful road snap in his life and there's pretty clearly going to be some dropoff.
It's not an excuse it's reality - and a compliment to Auburn's defense and atmosphere.

Yep, the plays looked almost identical. Punt Bama Punt was the most improbable win. While Auburn had had a great season, bama was far more talented and had a great team that year.
The Kick Six was dramatic, but the outcome of the game was not improbable nor was it in 2019.

Agree
2001 and 2002 were both more improbable than 2013 or 2019, IMHO
