Don’t give me the GPA average or graduation rate crap. This is all driven by money. It’s time to cut the schools that will never be nothing. SEC doesn’t need two schools in freaking Mississippi

- South Carolina needs to be traded for Clemson
- Vandy and Miss St need to be booted for Va Tech and UNC

What no, even if the sec added clemson usce is still a top 40 brand in college football. Hell they're closer to 30 than 40. Vandy would be flicked. Miss state would be on incredibly shaky ground.

Right here is where someone will publicly announce that they don't understand public record disclosure laws by proclaiming that having Vandy in the conference allows those laws to be skirted.

It doesn't. Vandy doesn't have to disclose its communications but all of the public members do.

Whenever the two mega-conferences make the jump to break away from the NCAA, some won’t make it. I’m thinking within 5 years now that the ACC is starting to break up. That’s really the last domino left.

The teams will not be cut by conferences but rather by the governing body that heads the 64 team new top division of football.

And yes some teams will be relegated against there wishes by virtue on not getting an invitation to join.

Needs to happen. 2 conferences with 32 teams each. 8 teams in each division. The division champs are put in a 4 team bracket for conference title. The 2 conference champs play for natty.

Or if you want, you can throw all 8 division champs into a bracket just so teams from the two conferences play against each other more.

I have zero doubt that’s the plan. And, the playoff committee’s decision to put us and Bama in over ACC helped speed the timeline.

Foley and the uaa would love it if the sec cut UF from the conference so they could go to the acc or maybe the B1G but even the B1G will have too many competitive programs for the uaas preference

It's not going to happen in the B1G or SEC unless there is a very, very serious scandal at a member institution. Even then, I doubt a school gets kicked out. If Penn State didn't get kicked out of the B1G for systematically covering up the molestation of dozens of little boys over a period of many years, then I don't know what it would actually take.

Kicking a school out would destabilize the conference. Say the SEC kicked out Mississippi State. Leadership at Arkansas, Mizzou, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, and South Carolina would all be putting out feelers to the ACC, Big 12, and B1G. And that chain can continue way up the ladder. Only an Alabama, Georgia, LSU, or Texas would truly be safe. No matter how elite the conference is, someone has to finish last. Is that school always on the chopping block? Additionally, it would make other attractive expansion targets think twice about joining a conference that cuts its "weakest" members.

Sure. Cut the lesser schools who add to your win total.

The zero-sum of a conference schedule is .500.

As the playoffs expand, no need for automatic wins that no one will pay to watch. It’s all about MONEY and games people will pay to watch

If the B10 and SEC ever start contracting...that's when the real fun begins.
I don't mean to shite on Miss St but they'd be the first to get booted.

Why? We just had a 13 game bowl streak, our basketball program is respectable and we have a top notch baseball program that just won a natty. Women’s basketball is solid and has been great not too long ago having played in 2 national title games.

It’s not like we are dead weight and don’t add any value or disparity in the conference

You just made my point bringing up bowl streaks, baseball, and WBB.

Well by your measure pretty much any non big 6 team should be booted then

My point is why would we be the first? There are other teams that have brought way less value in the past decade in football and other sports
