And old Charley Pell drove off into the sunset in his gifted caddy leaving the Gators behind to deal with either 103-104 major NCAA violations and probation. They didn’t win anything in the 80s that wasn’t stripped away for cheating. And that’s a major football power?

Kiffin has never stayed anywhere more than 4 years until this year. This will be his 5th year at the same place. He's got to be itching to get gone. Of all the decent jobs expected to be open after this season, Florida is definitely up there.

No but he can recruit SoFL while living at home. Let’s be real, he has a better shot snagging dade county recruits at UF vs Ole Miss.

Considering the revolving door of coaches at UF, Lane would do well to think hard before even thinking about this job. Before he was there a week the Gators would have fired up a FireLaneKiffin website.

I don't think you need top 5 classes anymore. What were Michigan's 3 classes prior to this championship? The portal has changed things. Might still need enough high school talent to get top 10 area classes to win it all though.

What makes you think that the clown show of an athletic department at UF would be able to lure Kiffin?
even if they wanted they couldn’t

But the don’t want to because Lane cares about winning too much

They rather have a football Mike White who enphasizes being polite to secretaries in the hall ways and not questioning the UAA for useless stadium kitchen construction projects

The weird thing is, Ole Miss has recently shown that they are more committed to college football than Florida. Strange.
strange but true

This is far from the truth. The current UF roster based on talent alone on both sides of the ball is a better roster than LSU has.

right now florida is so ridiculously far away from national title contention that they shouldn't be worryin about stuff like that. They shoudl be focused on getting out of the cellar and maybe winning more than 6 or 7 games in a season. There are A LOT worse guys florida could get than lane.

Zook’s recruiting was main reason Meyer won a title in Year 2. Saban’s recruiting was main reason Miles won a title in year 3. You’re missing the point to poke a hole at your rival. Fair enough, but I also don’t have to explain how essential recruiting is to success to someone who doesn’t know.

If we had unlimited time, and perhaps if you possessed a different comprehension capacity, I could explain it. But we don’t, so I won’t.

Michigan was complete exception to rule by having a super senior class of Covid upperclassmen given extra seasons. Michigan was the true anomaly in national champions in the last 20 years. Every other national champion that didn’t have a top 5 average class had a Hall of Fame QB. Michigan is the only anomaly.

Lane is holding out for a Texas/Georgia type gig or NFL job.

Florida would have to overpay him to get him to rebuild UF. And they would need to start dumping way more into football NIL. Not saying they can’t but why aren’t you doing it for the current guy.

Florida has 3 NC in the last 30 years... they've won 2 since Texas last won 1... What am I missing?

Hard times for UF when Ole Miss is better set up for football but that's currently the reality.

Kiffin isn't getting an offer from any place like that in the next couple of years. UF probably won't offer him due to some of our boosters but we would be the only offer like that he might get in the next couple of years.

I say the bye week after an home loss to Kentucky before the Cocktail Party...

That would be most likely...they have a bye week and will be coming off of back-to-back conference losses.

If he's not fired after we lose at home to UCF then I just give up.

The only times he has voluntarily left are Tennessee and FAU. If it were up to him, he'd still be coaching at USC.

When Florida hired Billy it was seen as a great hire, several programs wanted him. Hindsight is always 20/20. How long would Florida stand Lane only recruiting the portal?

I think it would be much easier to recruit HS kids to UF for Lane
