What is there to prevent players with eligibility left who get cut from practice squads next year from finding another coonass judge to grant them a TRO?

You need federal intervention basically. That's the only way this is getting fixed.

5 for 5s last year. But in reality, the NCAA can’t pass any rules that players can’t sue on because they fricked this up so bad they now have absolutely zero and I mean fricking zero authority over anything.

You can bet there are lawyers already looking at “5 for 5? My client only played 3 years in college and it’s discrimination to prevent them from coming back because they played 10 years ago”

The SEC would have a much stronger case enforcing their rule when players know what the rule is before leaving school.

They chose to go the league if they had eligibility left.
These players didn’t have a choice. They were told they were out of eligibility just to have the rule changed in June.

Guy has played 4 years. Decides to declare for the draft. Doesn't get drafted.

I said in another thread but lawyers are the worst thing to happen to NCAA. The NCAA can't take a piss without the lawyers suing. If anyone has made out since NIL started it's lawyers.

How do you all not understand that this is strictly about high school class of 2022 kids that played 4 seasons in 4 years and then NCAA changed to 5 for 5 after they left? This isn't kids that declared early for the NFL with eligibility left.

You’re right. Players could use the Chambliss playbook, claim a scratchy throat from 4 years ago and sue for a 7th, 8th, or even 9th year of eligibility.

No, in this case the player forfeited his eligibility. What is happening now is players were OUT of eligibility and then the NCAA changed the rules.

I'm not sure what it would take outside of collective bargaining and antitrust rules
