It's amazing how many people don't have a basic understanding of the issue.
They heard "NFL Players" returning and never went any deeper in understanding the issue.

I understand the issue… my point is nothing is preventing it from happen again. Sure, the rule would be more ‘fair’, but the door is still open for players to fight it.

Eligibility is 5 years starting from enrollment. Always has been as far as I can remember. 1 redshirt and 4 years to play. Now it’s 5 years to play no redshirt
If you sit out a year, you lose that year

Neither should happen. Courts should not be getting involved to start with.

Leadership is fine (in this case anyway).
1 school decided they didn't give a frick what the rest of the conference wanted and took it to court.

Ya see the thing with this ruling is that there is a legit case here to be made that these players were screwed over. A player that voluntarily forfeited their eligibility does not have that same leg to stand on.

Brother you’re naive as hell if you think players next yr won’t find some way to justify to a judge they weren’t treated fair by the system.

Man, if the NCAA can't enforce it's 5 for 5 rule, I can promise you it's not because of this case. That would mean it just can't enforce the most basic eligibility rules at all.
