Big 10 vs SEC
Actually, Ohio State vs Alabama would probably be the best

Wrong. ESPN would kill for Bama to make it. It is well known the Tide bring in the most viewers on average to CFB. You have all the Fans that love the Tide and then the whole rest of the country that would tune in to see if we lose.
You are delusional and trying to imagine some national fascination with Alabama football.
There really isn't a lot of disparity. The only reasons why Bama was number 1 this year is because they played so many ranked teams. Also, if they would've opened up against an FCS team and so many people hadn't tuned in to watch them get their arse beat by Florida State, the numbers would've been different.
Also, fans tuning in to watch Alabama in this year's CFP will be watching a plucky underdog that barely made the playoffs. You may or may not be stuck in the last decade.

On average, out of every 50 people in America, 49 of them were not watching Alabama play football on Saturdays this season.
Some of you frickers really need to get out of your state more often and realize that everywhere is not Alabama

Meh. It'll be on ESPN. We don't get that on my tv.

Texas Tech vs Ole Miss would be the worst. Most of that probably falling on Texas Tech rather than Ole Miss. Ole Miss is just in the same bracket with Ohio St, Georgia and Miami.
If it was just any 2 remaining playoff teams it would be Texas Tech vs Indiana, but they are on the same side.

The third game between UGA and Alabama would draw a huge audience wanting to see if Alabama could crack -3 yards rushing.

Interesting that a state like Alabama with its minimum population (relatively speaking) can split a state and both be in the top 10 nationally. Just really goes to show how much (or used to) college football means to the state.

18.3 million people watched the Big 10 championship game. Last season it was 10.5 million. It was the first time since 2019 that the game had topped 12 million viewers. Another 10-12 million watched the Indiana thing on 60 Minutes.
Indiana has a chance to be one of those transcendent teams if they win the national championship this season.

I think this is missing the point a bit, at least in my case.
I can only speak for myself, but when I faded away from the NFL in the early 90's, I can remember just not caring anymore. If my team wasn't involved in the playoffs or the Super Bowl, I no longer watched.
Whereas before, I would always watch out of love of the game. Even playoff games between two teams I hated. But over time, that changed. It happened slowly, then all at once. And then one day i realized it was a Monday morning and I was checking the score to see who won a game on Sunday. For MY team. I had not even watched the game
By that time, I was only watching college football.
But now, I can draw parallels to that and how I feel about college football today. I watch every UF game. If we ever made the playoffs (haha yes I know) I would watch. But I feel myself starting to...not care again. Just as it happened for me with the NFL.
Am I alone? Maybe so. But I havent watched a playoff game yet this year. And who knows, maybe I'll watch the championship game, If I'm not busy doing something else. But it won't depend on WHO is in the game.

Are we on a message board specifically related to college football?
Are we in a thread about college football ratings?
If you aren’t interested in discussing either maybe you should see yourself out?
If not, maybe check into the ratings before going on an angry rant.

Well that is definitely true to some degree and has been shown in the past in terms of % of people in Alabama who watch the games.
However, the biggest reasons why Alabama is #1 in the metric is because Alabama played the 4th toughest schedule in football this year, the toughest schedule by some metrics. That means Alabama played in many top tier games landing them on ABC almost every week.
In fact, Alabama only had 2 games all year long that weren't cast on ABC. ULM and the FCS game. Which was nice, because they are all free to watch.
On top of that, all the games were fairly close and interesting, or Alabama losing which people love.
ABC > CBS. I hear people complain about missing CBS, but 3 ABC games a day is why the SEC dominated that list. We did not have games cast on ABC at all until a few years ago. Only CBS and ESPN.

It’s ratings not stadium attendance. While poor at selling out gsmes Miami carries a very strong tv following

I’d say tech or Indy would be the worst but who knows. if tech can get all the atm/horn viewers that’d be strong viewership

Indiana winning the title would be the equivalent of 1984 BYU winning today just on name alone. Indiana would be a worthy champion because of who they beat en route to the title. They would be the first ever 16-0 national champion.
