And yet their current recruiting class is 4th in the SEC, ahead of LSU.

Makes you think.

How about you guys achieve a winning record against us?

...also we're about as a good of fit in the SEC as your new football coach is.

Sorry that we have the same record the last two years, are higher than y’all in the recruiting rankings, and are better fake southerners than your coach.

Missouri nearly played for a national championship while in the XII in 2007 and 2013 while in the SEC. Back-to-back Eastern Division titles in 2013 and 2014.

Now, do what Aggy has done in football since joining, other than a few SEC West runner-up finishes.

It’s not called the Show Me State for nothing. The Cardinals, Chiefs, Royals, and even the Hawks and Rams briefly gave us a reason to show up and support their products year in and year out. Outside of 2007 and 2013 Mizzou Football has been pure a s s.

Exactly like at least Kansas, UNC and Virginia would have been good at basketball. Missouri is so boring too. They belong with other boring teams in the big10. Iowa Nebraska Minnesota Maryland etc.

What doesn't Vandy excel at??? Viewership.

SEC teams with lower Viewership rankings than Missouri:

Mississippi State
South Carolina
Vanderbilt

Viewership makes it easer to sell advertising to SEC games, which increases the overall value of the brand.

Ultimately, the SEC Network wanted the STL & KC tv markets.

That's all they bring to the table.

And they really don't bring that as those mainly Pro markets......they really aren't big College sports markets, kind of like the Norteast.

Dude…you can certainly argue how “pro-Mizzou” KC is, but KC is pretty much the epitome of a college sports market.

The NCAA was headquartered here for most of its history, the NAIA is still headquartered here, the CBB Hall of Fame is here, there are tons of fans from Missouri, kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Iowa, and Arkansas everywhere. It’s like a college sports melting pot. It always ranks as one of the top viewership markets for big sports events, both college and pro.

I can’t speak to the college sports scene in STL, but it is an even larger market than KC so they definitely bring a ton of viewers as well.

So yes, Mizzou sucks at pretty much everything but they do bring TV revenue.

We won't be bad forever (I hope). Mizzou has already shown that it can have success in the SEC in football. Pinkel's untimely retirement and the on-campus protests in 2015 set us back quite a bit, but we'll get back to being semi-respectable. Recruiting sure is promising and the financial investment in the program is very much there:

Other than A&M, nobody has poured as much into football facilities as we have since joining the conference. For football alone we spent $72 million in 2014 to renovate the east side of the stadium and add boxes. In 2019, we rebuilt the South end zone and build a world-class training facility with a $98 million price tag. And we are now working on a new $33 million indoor practice facility that will be completed in about a year and a half.

That's $203 million into football-specific facilities since 2014.

On the other hand, I have no positive comment regarding basketball and Mizzou will never care about baseball.

This statistic is so closely tethered to on the field success. To that point: Mizzou ranked 8th nationally in 2013 (5th in the SEC) and 10th nationally in 2014. It's not surprising that our ratings are currently relatively low: we suck.
