96 Auburn
97 Florida

Texas in '83 was right up there.

The ‘99 Florida game was a lot of fun. I had been at Legion Field for the abortion against La Tech a couple of weeks prior, so I turned on the game that Saturday at my grandparents’ house more out of a sense of duty than any kind of expectation that we might compete. By halftime, though, I was completely zoned in. That was an awesome, and completely unexpected, game. In fact, I’d say that game is probably the one that, more than any other, launched me from “I pay attention to Alabama because I’m from Tuscaloosa and everyone else does so I do too” to “Bama football is life and death.”

It's probably the most unique Alabama football game I've ever watched. I'm not sure I've ever watched a game in which I was absolutely completely convinced we had zero shot to win that we actually ended up winning (especially on the road).

Is that the 1 where we had fricking David Palmer playing QB?

I was at that LaTech game too. Most embarrassed I’ve ever been.

I still swear to this day our kicker missed that GW PAT in OT

Not even close. Getting blanked 21-0 by Southern fricking Miss in that same stadium the next year, when we started the season at #3? Now we’re talking.

I heard that first Rose Bowl win surprised many around the country.

quote:

The 1926 Rose Bowl Game was held on January 1, 1926, in Pasadena, California. The game is commonly referred to as "The Game That Changed The South."[1] The game featured the Alabama Crimson Tide, making their first bowl appearance, and the Washington Huskies.

The Crimson Tide was led by Johnny Mack Brown. The Huskies by George "Wildcat" Wilson. [2]

Alabama were victorious 20–19, as they scored all twenty points in the third quarter. With the victory, the Crimson Tide were awarded with their first National Championship.

For me, I'd have to say our game vs. #5 Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1965....unranked UGA made the trip north and beat the #5 Wolverines, 15-7.

Michigan was to have returned the favor by coming south to play in Athens, but after that loss Michigan never reciprocated. They've also spurned a couple of overtures from UGA in the past 20 years to schedule a home & home series. Sad...would love to see Michigan come south to Athens to play the Dawgs.

We knocked off #1 Bama in 12 but i wouldn’t call that a huge upset. We had a great squad.

I’ll go with beating #1 OU in 03(?). We weren’t all that good that season.

I consider the "best upset" outside of the realm of the point spread. The two 1999 wins against UF were great, but the stakes were infinitely higher versus UM and UF 2009.

At the time OSU in the championship. Everyone thought they would destroy us and we dominated them like they were a high school team .

2014 against Georgia. Most of the fans had already given up on Muschamp and the team . Then we beat Georgia by running the ball on 90% of the plays .

Pretty big deal at the time but Michigan ended up going 4-6 that year...not a very good team.

We weren't either (we finished 6-4); but, upsetting Michigan put us straight from nothing into the #10 spot.

We had some great wins that year, though...beat #5 Alabama in the season opener, 18-17, in Athens, beat #4 Clemson in Athens, but lost the next two games to #5 FSU, 10-3, and to #10 Kentucky, 28-10, both on the road.

Injuries killed that season for us.
