the committee altogether watched one of the worst halves of college football I’ve seen all year.

One of the worst halves of offensive football. FSU’s defense was incredible in that game.

And FSU’s qb in that game was their third-string QB. Their backup (and postseason starter) was held out of that game bc of the concussion protocol. I don’t think most people realize that the offense from the Louisville game wouldn’t be the offense FSU would run in the postseason. They were protecting a freshman qb in the Louisville game (a game against the number 14 team which they won by ten)

I would argue that the worst half of offensive football was actually done by FSU in the 1st half of the Florida game. Their actual backup was playing then

They had to start their 2nd and 3rd string QBs against a rival (in an away game) and in their conference championship game (against a ranked team) and won both games by two scores. When I was younger a team that pulled that off was revered, not penalized. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills

Why isn’t everyone praising FSU’s defense in the Louisville game? They were incredible

Eh. This is man-made, though. We said the winner is the winner. Well, they won. It's not a random tornado and illness. It's tough for them to be left out. There is a justification, but it's subjective.

It's the main disadvantage of playing an easy SOS in an easy conference.

Yeah it's reminiscent of those Nebraska teams in the old Big 8. They feasted on creampuffs every year then got bent over when they finally played a real team.

Louisville’s offense was just bad. Losing SEC record Florida receivers were running wide open, and #15 10-3 ACC Louisville's receivers couldn’t get a lick of separation. There’s good defense, but there’s also piss poor offense. The ACC has piss poor offense

The ACC beat the SEC head to head on the field this year. Strength of schedule is also a beauty contest. It’s a bad look for college football. The committee wanted a SEC team in but couldn’t justify not inviting Texas who had beaten Alabama.

Maybe did a better job prepping their backup QBs.

How ironic.

Not looked anemic Sat night. It wouldve been a whole different story if they had played like a top 4 team.

All bs aside, this imo was the biggest factor. Alabama played like a team worthy of a top 4 spot on Sat, FSU didnt look like they belonged in the top 10

All they had to do was play well and dominate Louisville. They didn’t do that and played terrible. Once that happened it forced the committee to change course.

Not throw for 55 yards against Louisville lmao

Makes their 16-6 victory even more impressive.

This was mostly pre-determined before the season.

Wow. How to say I'm an idiot without saying it. FSU is in with Travis and he more than likely wins the Heisman. When you remove a player like that from your team, it matters.

FSU’s defense in the Louisville game?

A high school team would have given the FSU defense a better game. Louisville was horrible!!

Schedule all 4 non-conference games against the SEC since 2 wins wasn’t enough?

Try harder to keep their QB from being injured?

Add an extra game to the schedule to be the first 13-0 regular season P5 team?

I believe if they had been a little more productive offensively against Louisville's defense it would have helped.

The ACC's elite team's best win...of the entire year...was LSU.

Obviously, it’s FSU’s fault that Clemson, Miami, and Florida all had off years. They scheduled two major SEC teams, beat them both, on the road, and you clowns still bitch that they didn’t play anyone. And even in a down year, the Miami team they beat throttled Tx A&M of the mighty SEC.

Alabama needed a 4th and forever miracle to beat 6-5 Auburn, struggled with South Florida, and lost at home to Texas. And I’m supposed to see that as better than an undefeated record.

The CFP committee wanted an SEC team in the semifinal, period. They decided they could afford to bypass an undefeated P5 team to do it, so they did. Had Alabama beaten Texas at home we wouldn’t be having this discussion. But they get a mulligan cause they’re Alabama.

They had a horrible strength of schedule and their best player, the qb, got hurt. Sucks but sometimes life is tough. No go out and clobber UGA to prove you should have been in. Oh, you are going to get murdered by UGA? Then STFU.
