What role is Saban going to have? He already is talking and acting like he’s the GM

Makes sense. Louisiana kids don’t want a coach crying in their living room

That is going to be his role and he is going to be in charge of NIL/Portal and operate Alabama like a semi pro team because that is what college football
Has been forced to become. He is ahead of the curve on where all of this is going. These are going to become organizations.

So the rumors of his wife having health issues weren’t true. The man is a workaholic.

On what planet do you live on that you think Nick Saban would rather spend his retirement dealing with NIL and the fricking portal than coaching the football team? This is nuts.

No he’s not going to exit. He’s gonna be all up in the next 3 coaches business. He will become a meddling cancer and have the boosters in his back pocket tormenting futures coaches. No one will want to coach at bama and they will be relegated to the bottom tier of the SEC.

Let’s hope not. Coach welcomes his input. He said he wants to hear something from Saban every day…

That makes sense for someone like Phil Fulmer who was pushed out when he didn’t want to leave and then eventually worked his way back into the athletic department. Saban voluntarily retired while his team was still doing well. Doesn’t seem like something one would do if they still wanted to do the job they were leaving.

They’re in the bargaining stage of grief. The office in Bryant Denny is going to have cobwebs. The man turns 73 this year.

Saban will spend his time in Florida and at Lake Burton.

I coached for 20 years and wouldn’t like my predecessor hanging around the program. And if DeBoer is the right hire, he doesn’t need any of Saban’s assistance.
