Since you now have Malzahn calling plays officially next year, what record do you think will keep his job, given the lame duck status he certainly appears to have.

Looking at your schedule I see a probable 8-4.

Would that be good enough without a Georgia or Bama win?

He would be fired at season end. 9-3 is a minimum.

He needs to win 2 of 3 from LSU, Georgia, and Alabama.

Not sure he will be able to do that.

9-3 or 8-4 with a win over Bama or UGA and a competitive game against the other. Neither is very likely to happen.

I think they’ll lose at least 5 of the 6 between @A&m, MSU, @UF, @Lsu, Uga, Bama
That’s a pretty tough schedule.
The Oregon game will tell everything you need to know.

AU will do better than expected. That’s their nature, hardest program to predict.

If it goes anything like the rest of the Malzahn stay at Auburn he'll lose an early game, get the fans in a near riot, and then reel off ten straight wins and wind up in the SECCG.

Obviously it's Auburn so 14-0 is possible, but 9-3 looks to be the ceiling with 5-7 just as likely.

If he's not 4-2 or better before the bye week at the first of October, he may be gone then.

If he’s not 3-0 going into the A&M game then he’s done.

Perhaps, but I think this year went about how most folks thought it would.

I expect us to take a step back next year. We will still have a lot of talent at every position but we will be losing experience.

I think it's reasonable to expect 22-23 wins with a 6 or 7 seed in the tourney, with sights set on 2020 to be truly elite again.

Since we apparently will continue to run the same offense as we have the past few years due to recruiting, I would put next year at a high of 8-4, low of 6-6

Id go 7-5 most likely
