He is a 7-5 coach.
He may do better or worse who knows?

I think he will be lucky to get to 6-6.

Short of an sec champion I don’t know is he will survive based on how the end of this season went down. It is almost like they tried to set him up for failure. That said Auburn was not good this year so next year they should be formidable again. It’s their pattern.

i think 5-0 is very possible, with Florida being a make or break game for their season

I fully expect Auburn to pull a rabbit out of the hat next year and go 10-2/11-1 somehow.

I do, too, and I am sure a lot of other posters do.
Are you under the impression that no Auburn posters visit other team boards? because I hate bust your bubble...

Not all 8-4s are considered equal, of course.

If we look pretty good at the end of the year and beat UGA and/or Bama obviously he might come back. Meanwhile, 8-4 with blowouts and a loss or two to bad teams and I don't think he can survive. If it's another mediocre season, it'll be the way we lose that fuels the anger. People are sick of our Clemson/LSU 2017/Tennessee 2018 type games, and they're sick of non-competitive games against rivals.

Wait, isn't Auburn in the part of their cycle where they go winless in the SEC next year?

...then they'll win the SEC in 2020.

The barn is Zero chance to beat UGA or Bama. If Davidson and Brown go early to the NFL then AU "is in a world of shet"....Private Pyle

The fans are sick of it, yet it happened again this year and your Administration did nothing anything about it. The man has had his coaches, his recruits, his players, his schemes, it's his operation.

I am kind of seeing 6 and 6 type of record give or take one and probably canned mid season. Hard to see another 2013

I think they're largely playing a PR game. Following last year, there would be a ton of cries about firing Gus and paying that amount of money. It would be the poster child story for national media about athletics and our prioritization of them above all else, etc.

By flirting with the firing this year and giving Gus another shot to right the ship, they've probably taken some of the fervor out of that narrative. People know about the buyout and the situation he's in, so it probably won't make for as ripe a scandal next year. Plus it'll only be the most expensive buyout of all time by a factor of 2 instead of 3, so there's that...

Running this style of offense then yes. If he goes back to what he knows, he can be elite on the offensive side and Auburn can be a contender. If not, we will be mediocre

I'm going to say 10-2, with a win over Bama. It is that type of low expectation year for them, which usually ends up good for them
