True. And very frustrating.

Bama isn't overrated. We will find out for sure when you play Green Bay in the Super Bowl. Wait, the Packers aren't a lock quite yet.

They are playing really good right now. But not that much different than LSU at this point in the season. Hopefully both teams are fully healthy and playing at the top of their potential going into the nov 5th game. It is going to be the biggest game of the year if both teams undefeated, which they should be

Foster made a nice tackle on one kickoff. Terrible kicker, though. He'd be better at LB.

"i think AJ needs to get more accurate past 15 yards."

No he doesn't. Passes from 0-15 are all you need to keep defenses honest and move the chains.

Les with a week to prepare for Alabama is gonna be the difference in this game IMO. Best coach in the country with more than a week to get ready.

Once again what game were you guys watching? Alabama secondary played very well against Arkansas. Adams had trouble getting separation from Menzie. Penn State, Florida, and Arkansas all came out in their first two drives and moved the ball well, because they all showed a different look than what Alabama defense anticipated. It's called a script that all OC's have set to take advantage of what the opposing defense has not seen. The only reason Florida was able to move the ball a little before BRantley injury is because Alabama was playing a little prevent.

Alabama rarely blitzed Florida. The sacks on Brantley before his injury were four man rushes. Once again what game were you watching?

The game wasn't over when Brantley went down. The game was over as soon as Nick Saban knew Florida couldn't not run the football and Alabama could. The Brantely injury is actually a result of Florida's inability to gain any yards on the ground.

AJ is not a weak line either. Alabama has yet have a reason to open their offense up. The have beaten teams by running, screens, and very smart plays by AJ.

I guess when Upshaw sacked or rushed the QB that does not count as a blitz. No they did not blitz with their cornors or safeties early last night because of the speed of FL WR. When a WR gets behind a DB, you are not in prevent.

How many times did AJ throw deep ? I remember at least three overthrows on fly patterns. What game were you watching ?

dude, you need a deep threat, esp off play action (with your offense)

That "prevent" go dre burned on the first play of the game

That play was bump coverage with no safety help. Far from prevent. Debose has elite speed and got half a step past Dre and Brantley made an absolutely perfect pass. Dre's coverage was actually technically sound. You can't defend a pass that good. If that pass is 1 yard off we are not even talking about Dre getting burnt. That is the difference between fans and coaches.

I think they're every bit as good as LSU. Both teams are so similar with their style of play, talent level, and strengths and weaknesses. It's hard to tell who's better, but after watching LSU's offense sputter along against UK I'm a little concerned. Then again, I'd take Lee over McCarron and our D hasn't given up big downfield passes like Bama did with UF.

I still am not sure if Alabama has a good football team. I'm going to see how we play against Vandy and Ole Miss before I jump to any conclusions.

This. We have not played anyone and I need to see a larger body of work.

yeah dre just missed engaging and debose is really fast. i don't know if debose can do anything other than that right now, but he is going to get some TDs in the demetrius byrd role for UF

I know it wasnt a prevent....it was in response to your bama bro saying that the only reason UF gained yards was because bama was in a little bit of a prevent at the beginning of the game hahahaha

sagarin's numbers say Bama is #1. if the LSU game were today, Bama would be favored by 7 by Sagarin, taking into account the 3.+ for home game.

the passing game is not such a much, but those RBs are BIG.

defense as expected.

kicking game not so much.

so.. RBs and mighty D. good enough?

Sagarin has them head and shoulders above the crowd.
I think Okies, Wisc, Boise, and LSU COULD all beat them.

Love those RBs. I keep thinking, if only LACY had better grades LSU could have recruited him.

I take things one game at a time. Right now Bama looks unbeatable, next week maybe not. Week 1 LSU looked unbeatable yesterday they were vulnerable. I still think LSU could sweep the SEC and yet could also lose 3 games before season ends. It's way to early to be awarding Heismans and championships to any teams. FWIW... AU is looking pretty damm'd legit and if kept close can knock off either LSU or Bama. So to answer your question(s) directly:

Are we still "overrated"
not today

or are we the real deal?
We will know after the last game of the season

the thought of Upshaw being in Jarret Lee's face scares me. Bama made UF look like a junior varsity team. They had equal speed but were a lot more physical.

When Upshaw comes from the edge with his hand on the ground against the LT, it is still a 4 man rush, not a blitz. That's the difference between a 4-3 and a 3-4. The 3-4 adds the versatility of your rush DE/LB dropping back in coverage if need be.

I believe he was referring to the drive Brantley was injured on, which Alabama did run a lot of soft zone coverages on basically conceding the underneath routes. Danielson commented on it several times.
