He made their football program relevant. Of course he deserves to be recognized for this.
Do you just group all of them together as one big violation? lol
It took RP a fight, illegally entering a gambling boat with someone else's ID, missing classes, workouts, meetings and a positive drug test to finally get dismissed by Les Miles. How ironic is it that the drug test for marijuana was the straw that broke the camel's back?
1. The Times-Picayune reported on January 11, 2007 that Perrilloux was a “person of interest” in a Federal investigation being conducted in New Orleans, Louisiana. However, Federal representatives could neither confirm nor deny this story. Although he had not been accused of any crime, Perrilloux retained the services of Baton Rouge attorney Nathan Fisher.

2. On May 22, 2007, LSU head coach Les Miles suspended Perrilloux from the football team indefinitely after the player was issued a misdemeanor summons by police when he allegedly tried to use his brother’s driver’s license to get onto the Hollywood Casino gambling boat. However, Miles reinstated Perrilloux in time for preseason practice.

3. On October 25, Perrilloux, teammate Derrick Odom and others were involved in a fight at The Varsity, a Baton Rouge nightclub. On October 31, 2007, Odom and Jeremy Benton were dismissed from the team. Perrilloux remained on the squad, but was suspended for LSU's game against Alabama.
Perrilloux was not charged at the conclusion of the investigation.

4. On February 18, 2008, Coach Miles indefinitely suspended Perrilloux for violating team rules. The rules which he violated are unknown, but an LSU associate athletic director stated "it's nothing outside the football program". The New Orleans Times-Picayune reported that Perrilloux's transgressions included missing classes, workouts and at least one team meeting.

5. On May 2, 2008, LSU head coach Les Miles kicked Perrilloux off the team for "not fulfilling his obligation" as an LSU student-athlete. He is reported to have a failed a drug test due to marijuana, missed a team meeting, skipped classes and was late for a handful of conditioning workouts.

Are you scared booger?
Winning is more important than discipline. Sad but true.
Ryan P had a slew of offenses and was let back on the team time and time again before Les finally gave him the boot. To be lenient is his MO as a coach. Mike Gundy kicked 9 players off the team within 7 months of taking over for Les at OSU.
Les Miles has always run a loose ship wherever he has been. He won't truly discipline a player beyond the minimum unless he is forced.
This is a chance for Les Miles to change his soft on discipline image and send a real message. Or he can send the message that winning is more important than discipline.

its not even remotely the same situation

He failed a drug test and so did they. What exactly is different about it? Alabama smashes lsu at BDS whether those potheads play or not.
Well it could be longer than one game according to LSU's policies for drug testing violation on a second offense.

"Suspension from up to 15% (rounding method used) of countable contests and/or suspension up to 30 days or combination thereof upon recommendation of treatment team. The penalty will be observed in all sports from the date of signed notification."
People on the Tiger rant are saying that this was not their first positive test. If that is the case I don't see how they could only receive a one game suspension.
I think they are gone for the year.
His numbers are looking to be almost the same as McElroy's were in 2009.
Luck's heisman run will crash when they lose to Oregon again. Richardson wins the trophy this year.
