I believe a program like UNC shouldn't be depending that heavily on a single player to carry them. And it's been like that since Davis took over. He has had some big names leave the program, and a program like that should be loaded with talent and have plenty to fall back on.
I wasn't a fan of his hiring, I thought it was lazy just like when they hired screwball Matt Doherty. I did give him a chance after he made the final four and sent Coach Ratface home in his last home game, and in the final four. But recruiting hasn't been on point at all. I think Carolina should be up there with Duke, Kansas, and the other top blue bloods getting their pick of the players they want. The coaching obviously was an issue, and cost them a lot. There is no way you can convince me that Carolina should be depending on one player, a freshman at that to carry them. They should have at least 2 or 3 other studs they can rely on.
They definitely should not hire anyone from Carolina to be the next coach, because in my opinion, there is no one qualified. Stack isn't a good coach, and anyone suggesting Kenny Smith is an idiot.

what's interesting, is there were a lot of people who wanted Petino fired after he went off on his team publicly either last year or the year before. That the game had passed him by and players wouldn't want to play for a coach like that.
Now the guy from Kansas can sit out and get ready for the draft

I agree with this. But in my opinion UNC shouldn’t be depending on one player to save their season. Even with Wilson, there were some head scratching losses.

I don’t see how you don’t fire him. They’ve lost several games this way during the season. I just don’t know who you hire that’s better. There aren’t any UNC alum that are hot are rising coaching stars. They only hire UNC people.
