I don’t think he’s trash, actually. But I don’t think he’s any better than Franks either. He’s done enough to Help Florida win and that’s really all that matters at this point, just not sure it will be enough to win on the road against a team like LSU

He’s been better than Franks. Sure the stats don’t show that. But he’s brought the middle of the field game back to the offense and brought the TE back in. He’s made much more quicker decisions than Franks.
Franks never put his athletic gifts together with the mental part. It held this offense back.
The strength is the WR group. Franks starting limits this offenses potential.

You think?
It would be nice to see more blitzing. I wonder if Delpit looks the part this weekend for a change.

UF doesn't have a run game. That's not going to work.
I think Arnada is expecting a lot of dink and dunking, screens, misdirection and trick plays from Mullen.

Hand it off to Perine a lot.
Perine came into the game averaging 3.5 ypc and was on his way to another shite performance before the busted run play.
And I’d love to have it, but UF’s defense is overrated. They aren’t getting so much pressure that it destroys an opponent’s gameplan or ability to make plays. An experienced and solid QB will be fine against them. Their secondary also enjoys completely busting coverage sometimes.
The Gators would have lost on Saturday with any halfway competent QB playing for QB.

UF needs to get the running game established early. Gonna be a long day if they can't find some offensive balance.

Nix missed so many throws. Make those and it's a different game.
Burrow is a little better than Nix.

What UGA fans think he's trash? I'd rather play against your ex-starter!

a strong running game has given Aranda fits
We've been really good up front this year, and that's been missing some of our best players in that front 7 over some games. Vandy was the most successful and that was due to some missed tackles more than anything, not necessarily people being in the wrong place.
Starting DEs Lawrence and Logan have missed 3 games each and LB Divinity has missed 2 games. LB Chaisson has also missed 2 games. So a lot of backups have been playing and doing quite well against the run.

I thought the first long run by the Vandy RB was due to Phillips (or one of the other LBs) missing an assignment?

Wrong, wrong, wrong.
Wrong.
LSU's man defense is only good against teams that have lesser talent. Luckily, there are very many teams with lesser talent. The reason Aranda wants to be able to play more zone is so that we can out-scheme offenses with equal or greater talent. Florida is one of those teams with WR talent equal to LSU's DB talent. Man defense isn't going to cut it.

Florida needs to win the T/O battle by 2 or more.
They would have been down 2 TDs Saturday against this LSU offense. Giving LSU a short field will be suicide

Someone missed their hole on that particular run, but the story of that game was 18 missed tackles for about 150 extra yards given up.

I think that's all they need out of him saturday. Slow the game down to the pace UF wants to play at. Get in 3rd and short situations

but UF’s defense is overrated.
Probably, but it's far and away better than any LSU has seen this year. We still don't really know how they're going to respond if Florida manages to step up to them. There's two sides to the coin. This will be the best offense that the UF defense has seen on paper as well. I just think it's an interesting dynamic. The throws that have been there all season are going to have tighter coverage. Florida makes mental mistakes, but they've also got elite athletes on the back end- don't think otherwise. There are plays that have worked all season for LSU that will require even better execution to work against florida. Same thing that's going to win it for Uf will win it for LSU. Don't turn the football over or get carried away in trying to make it a track meet when you've got the ball. Get Helaire involved. Don't fall in love with the homerun because it's going to be harder to hit against UF. Does Burrow force it when it isn't there because it's been there all year long? We'll find out saturday, but it wouldn't be the first time that a really good QB was stifled when what's worked all year simply wasn't there

He can start by not turning the ball over 3 times.
He could have protected the ball more but our OL was getting abused. Auburn’s DL is legit and deserves the credit for forcing those fumbles.

Not being recruited by McNeese State as your top 3 would help

Everyone has it all wrong...Trask isn't winning the game. Its our DEFENSE that will win the game. Anyone who really understands football knows that defense wins game...the offense sells tickets.
Trask only has to protect the ball. He didn't throw a pick against AU...but fumbled three times when AUs big bad DL hit him. LsU doesn't have that luxury of an elite DL.
Special teams is huge and we have a punter who honestly can flip fields and make LsU drive the long field. Mullen knows with his defense all he wants is for UF to least pick up 1 first down and punt deep. He will shorten the clock. Be prepared kittens to have your nails chewed off after midway through the 4th qt where we win games. Three TDs and a FG should win this game.
Cant say I didn't warn you.

Florida ran the ball really well against LSU last season. Alabama consistently runs the ball well against LSU under Aranda. Auburn ran the ball against LSU last season. Vandy ran the ball well against LSU a few weeks ago. Franks completed 12 passes last year with a pick and they still scored 27 in a win. Mullen isn't an idiot, the gameplan is going to be to run the football and make LSU tackle in space.

Well, what's worked all year are screens, slants and bombs. What hasn't worked all year is the running game. So, assuming UF shuts down the run, if they take away the middle of the field, there may still be passes behind the line, and deep passes available. It's not like Burrow can't throw deep or doesn't have touch, he can make all the throws.
So in order for UF to just shut down the passing game, they can't just rely on defending one part of the field, they have to get to Burrow - and they've got the defense that can do it. Burrow is going to have to keep them honest mixing in runs with quick passes, limit the time in the pocket and dropping back.
I predict LSU will hit enough throws over the middle to loosen up the running game and control the ball. I don't think the deep throws are going to be there. If I were Burrow, I'd be careful throwing tin the flats as well, UF's defense is full of speed.
