Must have been something good. Maybe start with that next time.
I know some of yall think he just went around the room and gave them all a hug.

Kane talked to the team said he would beat Grubbs arse if he kept up the cute shite. Grubb took note.

"Gee Golly guys, we can't play any worse than that. If you guys don't step it up. I'm going to take away your music during practices.

At halftime. Wommack handed Deboer a sucker and told him to go stand in the corner because he was taking control of the team....Wommack told the team the defense was going to make great stands and the offense was going to start running more until they got it right.

"Stop giving them free points, Keelon" probably

DeBoer said he saw his team maintain an even keel in the locker room at halftime, though, despite trailing 17-14 on the road. Veterans Zabien Brown and Ryan Coleman-Williams were calming influences, DeBoer explained. And quarterback Keelon Russell, who was responsible for those turnovers, "went over to the other side [the defense] and just owned some of the things that he fell short on," the coach said.

He’s got the physical tools, now we know he has the leadership tools and maturity.

It's been a long time since I was 19 but not once can I recall anyone giving a shite about owning up to a mistake on the field. You didn't kill someone. You didn't accidentally knock up the coach's daughter. You threw a bad pass. Just stop doing it. Just stop. No one needs a fricking apology. And no one fricking cares. Just stop fricking up.
Why would a defensive player need an apology?
I don't need a "My bad dog."
How about you get in that offensive meeting and figure out how you are going to get back the points you gave away? How about that?
I'll handle my job.
This hugbox, performative shite is so asinine.

Sounds like coach didn't say anything at halftime, he let the players say everything. I hope it is all just coach speak and we really went into halftime and went through adjustments. This may have been the best third quarter in three years.

CKD not saying anything sounds about right at half.

I mean, I might have handled it the same way. We’d looked like caca but we were still absolutely in the ball game and should have been leading. What would throwing a fit accomplished other than blowing off steam? The players knew what needed to be done and did it.
Research how Coach Bryant handled the locker room when we went in at halftime down 15-0 against Georgia Tech in 1960 and had looked like dog vomit. (Spoiler alert: He didn’t scream and cuss, he went around patting everyone on the back and saying, “We got ‘em right where we want them,” and we came back and won 16-15.)

The people who want so badly a coach that flies off the handle on the sidelines, throws headsets, rips into players on the sidelines, gives fire and brimstone halftime speeches, etc need to just accept that DeBoer is not Saban, and will never be. No one is. Literally no one.
And there are plenty of coaches that do the rah rah, freak out on the sideline thing that arent good coaches. And there are some that do that are good coaches. Everyone has their own coaching style, and one isnt necessarily better than the other.
All I know is that when the team came out of the locker room for the 3rd quarter, they dominated the opponent in just about every way possible. Whatever adjustments were made, words were said-it worked incredibly well. So who gives a flying frick about the 'why' or 'how'. The results speak for themselves. Yet, people still want to bitch and moan because DeBoer is not the perfect little image of what they think an Alabama head coach should be in their heads. Its fricking dumb.

Exactly. They can’t get it that this is the age of NIL and there is a transfer portal. Cussing and yelling on the sidelines only works if you’re paying them $$$$ to make the cussing and yelling worth staying.
