Wow, it's nice to see you really have high expectations for this year's team. 8-4? That's what you're expecting out of this team? Good Lord, thank God you don't coach. That's pretty sad with all of the talent we have on our roster.

This is why L6U fans go batshit crazy as the season winds down.

Your team has been closer to 8-4 the last few years (with all of that talent) than it has been to 10-2 or 11-1.

Serious question. It's popular to laugh at LSU right now, but how do y'all think you will do?
10-2, with a legit chance to be better

Do you have faith in Orgeron to contend for the west?

....ummm...
Hard to answer that. Best way to put it is, no, not really.

First off, I think breaking the Bama stranglehold is becoming a mental thing, so until we beat them again, I don't have faith in winning the West.

As for Orgeron overall, I think the first couple of seasons will be very strong, what I fear is it unraveling within 3-4 years.

I have no idea what to expect. I just hope I don't have to watch another year with bad quarterback play.

Right. I don't know either. 11-1 to 8-4 probably.. defense will be good. Offense is unknown. Not much proven depth at WR. QB was meh last year. Has he improved?

Losing to UF should have cost O his job last year, losing again this year should cost both Alleva and O their jobs..

I believe this team can compete for the West if QB play improves. If there is no improvement, it'll be a repeat of last year. Between Jennings, Harris, and now Etling, I don't know if I can watch another year of mediocre QB play.

Yeah, looking at your schedule, I could see 11-1 as the ceiling, but also like a 7-5 floor. I just have no idea how an orgeron coached team operates. I was young during his ole miss days.

This is about as close as you can get - and with the ole miss comment - will bring up a very good question/questions because his ole miss days were horrendous. 1) has he learned from his mistakes of the past as well as learned more from his exp at USC and LSU 2) he has shown success in a fire drill situation in taking over after a coach is canned mid-season, but can he be the full time man, running everything every day continuously? 3) will he let the coordinators run the game?

So my honest answer? Hell if I know. With the talent and if moral holds steady I can't really see just a complete nosedive, but can the achieve their potential? Have to admit - not totally sold that he is the man to do it - no doubt he has the energy, excitement, dedication and willingness - but just not sold as of yet.

I think 9-3. Definite loss to bama again. Find two more losses between Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, and Arkansas. Lsu will still be limited with qb play. 8-4 or worse Is a crap season. 3 losses sort of a push and what we were used to with Miles. Outside of Bama it's a real crapshoot in the sec. Lots of questions for Florida, auburn, uga, Tennessee, and lsu. 10-2 or better will make me happy this year but I would bet on 9-3 or 8-4 before 10-2.

I'd say 10-2.

They split the Auburn/Alabama games, which would be very solid. But, the tigers drop a head scratcher to someone from the Arkansas/Florida/A&M/Vols group.

No. I am not saying that Arkansas/Florida/A&M/Vols are as good as LSU this year talent wise, I'm just saying with two high stakes games against Auburn and Bama it is really hard not to have a sleep walk game where you wind up with egg on your face.

If LSU can hold serve against the teams they should beat and split Auburn and Bama then they have a legitimate shot at an SEC championship.

Worst case scenario an early loss against BYU puts them in a tailspin and they finish 7-5.

Losses are possible from Bama, Florida, Auburn, TAMU even....if we played them in September, (we don't). Tennessee is possible but unlikely.

I think we can go 10-2 with losses to Alabama and Florida.

Wouldn't surprise me if we slipped up in another game coming down the stretch either.

We just don't have a capable qb that keep defenses honest. Hopefully we'll have one in the near future bc that's really all we are missing personnel wise.

The blind leading the blind group thinks O is going to win every game.

The wait and see group thinks he can win at LSU early, before he really fricks things up, so a 10-2 group.

The living in reality group is still not and probably never go to buy into him as HC and thinks he can screw it up quick and win 8 games.
