Pretty sure I've never said otherwise. But if you're bored on a Saturday with your baseball team sitting at home, search my post history and prove me wrong. Otherwise, stay in topic, and the topic is about Daddy.

The one thing orgeron and staff showed, except bama and to some degree fla (lots of yards and self inflicted turnovers and blunders) is that we finally will crush teams we should crush.

Really? They should have crushed Alabama? Hard to crush teams you don't score on.

8-4

I believe O will be better than he was at Ole Miss, an obviously LSU is a much better job than Ole Miss, so I don't see us going in the tank like that. But I'm not sure he has what it takes to really be more than a 7-5, 8-4 type coach.

The Aranda factor could push this to 9-3

9-3 and don't get blown out in any of the losses. LSU's roster needs more talent and depth on the OL and QB. Until then, and it may be two more recruiting classes away, 10-2 is an absolute best case. 9-3 is more likely. 8-4 is possible.

This is where I'm at.

We drop one to Bama and another to either Florida or Tennessee.

I would be pumped with 10-2.

your coach came from High School !

How is this relevant? I'm not saying gus is a great coach, but how does him coming from highschool make him bad?

He set records at Tulsa and Arkansas, got us to two sec championships, and led us to the natty in 2010 and 2013.

Also, he doesn't have a 22-29 coaching record.

The team has a lot of talent, but there are a lot of unknowns. I think we have the potential to have a very special year with 1 or 2 losses. The problem is will the qb play be better, can Chark be a legitimate #1 receiver and can another receiver step up. Can we fill the void of all the defenders we lost with the likes of Riley,Beckwith,Godchaux,Tre White, and Jamal Adams? I think this team will grow and improve vastly as the season goes on, but I just realistically think we end up with 3 losses at least.

Have to step it up in OL Recruiting.

How about having the #1 OG and #17 overall player in the 2019 class committed?

How about the #2 OT and #19 overall player in the 2019 class committed?

If he can hold on to these guys, help is on the way.

Second in the West, lose to Bama again. We still don't have a QB to compete. One of the freshman will finally break our slump, but none of them will be ready this year.

2018 is the year we have a real shot for the playoff.

I'm sick of being super optimistic in the off season only to get disappointed. I'm trying a new approach this year, LSU won't win a single game and will field the worst team in decades.

8-4/9-3 max.

We've been spoiled for almost 2 decades of coaches who rarely lost to teams they should beat.

We don't get that luxury anymore. We went from having a pretty good coach with great talent to a bad coach with great talent.

A loss to BYU would upset me, but it wouldn't shock me.

And? Time will tell, but there are a number of LSU folks still pissed about how he got the job without a whiff of a proper search. Too late to dwell on it, but Coach O has so much to prove to so many.

You went from a coach who thinks 2 yards and a cloud of dust is football. A coach who couldn't recruit or coach-up a QB to save his job. A coach who thought Cam Cameron was a good offensive coordinator.

At least the new guy knew better and hired the only Broyles Award candidate as offensive coordinator. If you want to go back to the old days of Bradley Dale Peveto -Doug Mallory as co-defensive coordinators and Cam Cameron as OC, well bless your stupid heart.

LSU is in trouble. LSU hired a coach that has a total of 10 wins in 3 seasons as a HC. That's not good at any level. LSU had a good run from O3-11 but it's over. You can say you are a top 10 program but top programs don't go 8-4 every year. I got LSU 4th in the west year.
