Ah yes ESPN they certainly know what theyre doing.
It isnt like theyre a company owned by Disney which means whoever is creating their equally shitty models is just a bunch of DEI hires who probably failed statistics at their community college.
Also which is it? Are you basing your ratings off Vegas or off ESPNs DEI hires? The two are not remotely the same thing.

Well, that just proves ESPN's power rankings are trash too.
Do you have a point?
Do you have a point?

Yet, my results are similar to ESPN's. So maybe it's YOU who doesn't understand what this list means or how it works.

Just win, baby!
Win by one, win by fifty it counts.
Win by one, win by fifty it counts.

Looking at the results it's clear this model ranks margin of victory over weak opponents WAY to highly and doesn't differentiate enough between a close loss and a close win (not recognizing that a win... even by a small margin... matters significantly because it was a win).

Compared to SP+ which is actually well accepted:
Bama way to high
Boise way too high
Wisconsin too high
Wake too high
Oklahoma too high
Ole Miss too low
BYU too low
So basically you got 60% roughly right which is a D grade

The model is broken… or retarded… or possibly both.

Riiiiight. This is so intelligent and honest..

My model is not based on either. It comes to its results independently. It just happens to agree with ESPN FPI in some case and Vegas in others. I'll throw SP+ in there too. SP+ has LSU at #9, Kentucky at #47.. but hey, that guy is a retard, right?
Nothing you say is going to make you sound like you know what you're talking about on this - which you've already proven.

Like most everyone else, you aren't understanding the difference between a ranking and a rating. A power rating doesn't care necessarily about wins and losses. It cares about points - more specifically how many points you e scored against what defense, and how many points you e given up against what offenses.
In other words LSU losing by one point last night is a (almost) negligible difference to them winning by 1 point.
In a ranking system, yes, a "win" would matter because of merit. This is not a ranking.

UK has the fourth-best resume in college football, according to ESPN’s advanced analytics, which grade a record's strength by how often an average top-25 team would match or exceed it given the schedule. In terms of strength of schedule, the Wildcats rank No. 5 overall and No. 19 in remaining strength of schedule... meaning, on paper, they’ve already gotten through the hardest part of the season.
Only Georgia (No. 1), Indiana (No. 2), and UCLA (No. 3) have better resumes than Kentucky at this stage.
You beat a couple of cupcakes to pad your stats and are trying to flex as No. 8 after getting run off the field last night.
Again, your list is retarded. Stop defending it; you ain't doing yourself any favors.

I can you for sure LSU body of work isn’t nothing compared to OUs and you are ranked higher . You have two sec losses also. So whatever model this is …. is trash.

SC ahead of Miss. St. is a little odd.

It's not a ranking.
Your team isn't as good as you think it is.

ESPN FPI, which is the model that decides Kentucky's resume, has Kentucky at #30 in their ratings... My model has Kentucky #30. SP+ has Kentucky at #47.
