Ole Miss had a horrible defense, and not much in passing. I think they can contend for #3 if Kiffin can fix the passing and they find a defense.
Have you looked at OM schedule
Baylor, AU, LSU, Bama, FL in the first 7 weeks of the season. Vandy and SE MO are the other two. Starting 2-5 doesn't set up for a 3rd place SEC West finish.

T-1. Auburn - Returning QB and Kevin Steele. Only one because they've had a defense every year under Steele and Nix should be better. Only team with a Defense and possibly an offense. All depends on Gus being stupid or Nix and Morris being able to overcome him.
LOL! Did you lose your whole OL and key defensive starters?
Come on.

T-1. Bama - Lost Tua and their 1 and 3 WRs but has Mac and 2 and 4 WRs returning for some offense. Their Defense don't look to be great next year. Plus a slightly harder schedule than they are used to.
We were ranked 20th on defense with all of the youth and injuries. We will be a top 10 defense next year
quote:
3. LSU - Lost their offense and don't have but one CB worth mentioning on a defense that wasnt great this year. 3rd on just possible amount of athletes.
4. Texas A&M - Only on amount athletes.
5. Ole Miss - Simply because Kiffin might pull out a win or two.
6. State - Unproven coach and not great but should still be better than Arkansas.
7. Arkansas - Still lost and rebuilding with an unproven Coach and little talent.
LSU has the talent. Has always had the talent, but it took the right offense and the guy training the QB. That's all gone. Naturally, we will have to see who they get, but it will be a down year.
You are stooooopid if you think Leach is unproven.

What the F????
Stingley says hello....
As a freshman, he led the Southeastern Conference (SEC) with six interceptions and 15 passes defended and was a first-team All-SEC selection by the Associated Press (AP). He was also a consensus All-American, earning first-team honors from the AP, American Football Coaches Association, The Sporting News, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, and USA Today.
Sheesh.
Pretty sure that's the one he was talking about.

2- TAMU. Look, I don't think TAMU is good. But they return more than most and their talent is better than that of most. It's the only reason I have them here right now.
Texas A&M might finish this high for one reason - their schedule. They could easily be 10-0 before wrapping up against LSU and Alabama.
I think Alabama wins the West and LSU is second. The deciding game is a VERY close match when those two teams play. That said, if attrition hits LSU harder than expected, they MIGHT finish behind A&M (despite likely beating them head-to-head).

Eehhh....I think you have to have the data on LSU before making any predictions. Let’s see who they replace Aranda and Brady with and see how signing day ends up.
LSU gets Bama at home. Depending on the above information, I think LSU wins the West by tie break over Bama.
I do think LSU loses at Florida.

We are going to have good receivers coming back this year in Treylon burks, trey knox and Mike woods. We are going to have Hudson henry brother of Hunter henry as tight end . Also one of the best running backs in the sec in rakeem boyd is coming back. The offensive line will add more depth and experience.
The quarterback situation is what is going to sink or swim this offense.

You haven't heard? Ed Oregon is building a dynasty! LSU back to back!

quote:You know the 2 yall spent all year claiming were the GOAT? Burrow and Brady? They are gone. Yall can't have it both ways. If they were that great then yall aren't going to replace them with some average QB and the same OC that couldn't do anything til Burrow and Brady had a breakout year.
lol wut?
I don't know why that is so hard for LSU fans to comprehend.

Yea that guy that posted that has lofty expectations to say the least, however:
I do believe the OFF Line will actually be better at least in run blocking by addition by subtraction. The guys leaving just didn't have it. They were "ok" in pass pro but couldn't move even weaker DLS in the run game.
With a better run blocking OL, that will make life easier for Bo and the passing game.....in turn enhancing the Offense. I also think if Gus will let C. Morris actually be the OC....we will utilize TEs and HBs and the middle of the field and it could be deadly. Nix was at his best when passing to the middle of the field...Gus just never used it.
On Defense it will be very hard to replace Brown and Davidson. Same as it was very hard to replace Adams and Lawson. Rodney has done a magical job in recruiting, and even more so in developing younger guys to where when it is their time to step in they have adequate reps under their belt.
DL will be solid. I think with D. Newkirk, C. Miller, and T. Truesdell along with youngsters Jaron Handy, Jar HArdy and the bunch coming in we will be ok.
On the Ends we will have Big Kat Who hopefully takes that next step that MArlon took this past season, or T.D. Moulty could be the guy.
At Buck we have a kid I am putting on blast right now...he will have a break out year. All SEC type of year.....Derick Hall. He played some and showed flashes this year but he was a little lean. Let him get another year of S/C and he will is going to be a beast off the edge.
LB will be a major strength as we do not lose a single starter and bring in some studs as well.
Secodary we lost 4 guys. Our 2 starting safeties, 2 starting CBs (Iggy declaring sucked) and only return our starting NB Christian Tutt.
We do have a lot of guys that played alot of snaps that overall may be more talented than the guy leaving. Especially at Safety. Smoke Monday and Jamien Sherwood will hold that fort down.
Roger McCreary will be a lock down CB as he showed lots of promise in his role this year. We have a good Juco guy coming in that I think will battle it out with TrSoph Nehemiah Pritchett for the other starting CB spot. Both guys over 6' with length. Our DBs will have length this coming season. Only Tutt is under 6' I believe.
I think D will still be a top 5 SEC Def when it is said and done, and if the OFfense makes the improvements necessary we could have a really good year.
WR group is got some talent coming back. Seth Williams, Eli Stove, Hopefully Schwartz stays.
RB room is full of potential and with Tank coming in along with Marc Antony Richards being off injury...I can't wait.
I think LSU/Bama/AU battle for the west. Ole Miss rises to 4th. A&M falls to 5th.
In the East I think UF wins the East. Uga loses 3 games. UF, Bama, and AU. The fans realize Kirby squandered what chance they were ever going to have to get 1980 off their back.
