re: Joe Kent on Shawn Ryan show is truly must watch

That’s just not remotely true. The Shawn Ryan’s, Dave Smiths, Tuckers, Rogan’s of the podcast world took Trump at his word that he was a non-interventionist.
It is Trump that has changed positions, not the podcasters.
You are intellectually dishonest to say otherwise.

All of which is likely true.
CCT guys are IMO maybe the most well rounded warriors in our military. You are a bad man, no doubt.

6 weeks from now it’ll be 100k. Welcome to Iraq 2.0.
You realize it doesn’t have to be binary (actually, I’m sure you don’t).
Just because you don’t support Trump doing something he campaigned for 10 years on not doing doesn’t mean that you “support” democrats.
To that end, blindly supporting clearly bad ideas because your team chose to do them is the height of partisan stupidity.
Please name one combat initiative of this size and scope the US has participated in within the ME that had worked out well in the long term. I can only think of one snd that was Gulf War 1.
HW Bush, as it turns out, was likely a horrible person, but he was wise in not engaging in a long term war in Iraq. His son was not so smart.

Precisely.

We are deploying 10k troops between 82nd and Marines, Iran is shooting missiles all over, the Iranian government is still intact…but we’ve won?

It’s funny that I’ve been assured on here since the outset that boots on the ground won’t be needed.
The Iranian people we are doing this for will rise up on their own.
Then rumors of Marine EUs…ehhhh that just for securing the Strait. In and out.
Now the 82nd…
This is Iraq all over again without telegraphing our intentions by at least seeking congressional approval.

I’ll take the word for it.

There’s no logical reason. If Biden had done this, or if God-forbid Kamala had won and was doing this, the same people on this board that are all in would be completely against it.
If Kent received these texts as a part of a government investigation and then provided them to a podcaster, then I take back my defense of him relative to being an alleged leaker.
I do think Kent is bright and think he’s a patriot, but if he used his government position to receive and send communications derived solely because of his position in government in view of an investigation, then that’s a big problem and he should face consequences.

re: Israel expectations versus United States

Correct.
I’ll go…
I think Trump expects to enter a ceasefire, have control over preventing nuclear development, have some semblance of control over who runs Iran and how.
I think Israel desires full scale invasion similar to Iran that lasts for a decade and completely nullifies Iran as a cohesive country.

What do you think the Israeli expectations are for a positive outcome in Iran versus what the Trump Admin expectations might be as we sit here today?
Second question, do you think that Trump and Bibi are aligned in their goals?

re: For better or for worse, the outcome of the Iran War will be Trump’s legacy.

His legacy is tied to whether he can keep Israel on a leash.
A ground war is untenable. This means some form of mediation and agreement.
If he cannot keep Israel from attacking while he’s negotiating, then this will all fall apart…
Israel fully intends on a full scale occupation by the US akin to Iraq, IMO.

This seems to be a more common thing recently. There was a shooting by the Peabody in Memphis this weekend.
By more common I mean indiscriminate shooting in consumer business areas.
I’ve seen a lot more young black males open carrying in the last year. It’s almost common to see now.
I feel like something has shifted even worse than it has been within that culture…I’d assume tied to prolonged COVID lockdowns, no school and idle time in bad homes.

Christians are getting murdered all over Africa right now. Are we fighting there for those people.
If you are dumb enough to think this is about protecting Iranian people, then please volunteer to go fight.

re: Lindsey Graham Pushing For An “Iwo Jima” Moment In The Iran War….

It’s telling to me that those on this board that support this war with Iran (or humanitarian effort, regime change, Israeli protection…or, rolls dice…whatever you call it today…anything but war) are on the same side of this as Lindsey Graham. Full Stop.
Note: if you are on the same side of a foreign policy decision with John Bolton, Lindsey Graham and Bill Kristol, you are on the wrong side.

It was true for Biden, and it’s true for Trump.

Let’s presume Iran said those things. Let even presume that they could weaponize. Was there in indication that they were about to nuke the US?
North Korea actually has nukes. Why haven’t we attacked them?
