We really don’t know what JD is, if we are honest.
There’s a decent shot that the Dems are gonna run this guy on the presidential ticket if he wins this senate race according to some Dem strategist.

An El-Sayed/AOC ticket is possible.
Paid $117 to fill up my truck today.
I think he’s Stoops 2.0 but a better recruiter.
I don’t think they nuke Tehran either, but Kharg Island would be a target.
There are reports (probably false) that there was a potential assassination attempt on Trump when he was recently in Turkey. They allegedly decoyed him being on AF-1 and moved him to ti military plan in a service truck.
I think a small percentage of loons would celebrate (probably like Charlie Kirk but worse). God forbid that happening.

The point of the thread is if something like that happened, how does JD respond?

Clearly there are threats watching Trump golf near missile batteries with F-16s flying overhead over the weekend.

JD seems measured to me, but that would be unprecedented, I think that’s why tactical nukes are in order, then withdrawal physically and financially from the region.
Honestly, not sure. I think he’d have to make a massive and historic statement in response. I don’t think it’d be ground invasion.

Total guess but probably tactical nuking of Geographically significant areas of Iran and then pull out entirely of ME.
That’s being reported (who knows if true), and JD Vance is seated as President and it’s provable it was Iran, what do you believe Vance would do in response?

Note: I’ve got my doubt this story of sneaking Trump out is true, but do believe Iran is probably very willing to try to take him out.

That’s a pretty good summary. Here is my suspicion:

- Israel took advantage of Trump’s ego after Venezuela and convinced him bombing would embolden the people and he’d become known for eternity as the ruler who toppled the 1000 year empire of Persia/Iran
- He fell for it (despite many DOD leaders telling him not to do - hence firings and resignations)
- it was apparent quickly it would not work like he thought (thus he became the hype man proclaiming victory and control)
- our munitions were running low and we needed to reassess, hence the first ceasefire
- we now have no viable options for “victory” and just based on lack of options, are at a stalemate at best
- Iran controls the Straits, 18 servicemen are dead and we’ve pissed away $40B in munitions and gas prices (and other goods) are up drastically.

It was the worst move to make and the worst time.
For Iranian leaders, this is existential. For US leaders, it’s political. In weighing factors of determination, I’ll take existential every time.

Throw in the religious angle that suffering and dying for the cause is Allah’s will, and you cannot defeat that with political maneuvering and bombs.
I didn’t get the shot, but your boy Trump sure pushed it..took credit for it.

Trump has done some good things like limited USAID and securing the border.

His problem is his biggest strength, interestingly. It’s his ego.

His ego caused him to get rid of Elon and start a war with Iran. Reverse those two things and this is a very successful administration.

You can’t possibly at this point still think this Iran deal was a good idea. I’ll grant you got caught up in the emotion and even that for a long time even Trump’s blunders seemed to work out.

That said, this is very clearly now a very bad decision, if not a disaster.

Trump, like you, should acknowledge it and cut his losses. For Trump, the consequences will persist, but at least he could concentrate exclusively on our domestic issues.
It’s almost like some people can be something other than binary, huh?

Or, it’s almost like people can be frustrated with broken promises…or they can be nuanced enough to approve of some things and not others.

That said, cults are cults for a reason. You are either all in or all out.
It’s never ending for the 18 dead US servicemen and their families.
So, by your definition (moving goal posts) shooting billions of munitions into a single country, while said country attacks our bases and our allies bases annd infrastructure over months and months in response is not war?

Hahahaha.
China and Russia will keep the people fed that need to be fed. The humanitarian crisis that floods Europe with more Muslims is just an added benefit for the globalists, communists and jihadis of the world.
Exactly, Israel and the MIC convinced Trump that this would be easy. They played to his ego and he fell for it. Every president since HW Bush knew better but Trump’s ego got to him. You can tell that they have literally been making it up as they go since the first week. When the Iranian people didn’t rise up, Trump was screwed.
Is this war over? Will it be over when we pull stakes and pay tolls to clear the Straits? What about when we pay their reparations? When will the war end?
When the debate is lost, insults become the loser’s tool - Socrates.
Goal post shift. Good Lord, that’s embarrassing.
I don’t necessarily disagree, but their leaders have an ability to endure (and force) suffering that ours do not.
