I’m going to say…..drum roll…..South Carolina. Coach Lamont has done and unbelievable job of turning the Gamecocks around and I think they will be hungry.

Have to see brackets first but I’ve liked Florida all year.

Arkansas makes the finals and loses. Just to prolong our misery.

We got very fortunate against UF yesterday. I like them to make a run.

USC has had a great year and they’re consistent on both sides of the ball, but the top half of the league is full of good teams. UK and UA have defensive issues, but can score with anybody. I think Florida has a hard time with any of the top 4. It looks like a race between AU and UT at the moment. Pearl has traditionally mailed it in during the conference tournament at AU, even when they had the best team. Barnes has been similar in underperforming in the SECT, but he did get one a couple seasons ago.

I think it’s going to be the best conference tournament in a long time and I don’t know what the hell is going to happen. Should be fun.

Poor conference tournament performances are a Carolina staple in MBB and baseball, regardless of record.

I say SC, but then I'm biased.

frick it, since no one else has said LSU, I will

Taking off the homer glasses, LSU does fit the profile. They've been getting better as the year progresses, to the point that they're now playing like a tournament team. They COULD play with anyone in a single game situation.
The other teams that can win are already in, so they might coast at the SEC tourney. LSU is in MUST WIN mode, even an NIT bid isn't locked up yet.

And LSU has a decent mix of players; some size (Baker is 7 ft, Dean and Reed are 6'10), and Reed is beginning to drive more. Some serious heart with Hannibal at PG, Wright is starting to take games over, and Ward hits some big shots.

No, I don't think they will.
But it's often a team in their position that makes a run.

Based on recent play, I'd say Kentucky. South Carolina will go into a shell if they have to play Auburn or Alabama. Auburn will likely have a cold shooting spell at the wrong time, Bama defense will falter at the wrong time, and Tenn is prone to complete jekyll and Hyde syndrome.

I miss that dude. He has been very good for y'all.

I guess it's a straight trade, Hannibal for Gray. Horse has been great down the stretch, and helps keep the team loose.

Of the teams that could/should win, who has the most to gain from the tourney? Is Tennessee close enough that they could slip into a 1 seed?

It all comes down to the brackets and match ups. It's tough to say

Kentucky is hot right now. They should win the tournament. If Bama beats UF on the road they will win the regular season title because the Viles have a very tough road ahead.

USC e can beat them at home and they will lose to Kentucky, who is just red hot right now.
