So, I just realized the CFPCG is not played until the 13th. I know, I know, but I have had (and STILL have) a house full of extended family for the holidays. Football has been hard to come by since the 17th.

Now, to my point. What is the frick is up with a 16 day gap between the semis and the final?

I’ve seen a few explanations. None of them make any sense.

He’s retarded, so try not to point out the obvious. He might start licking the window or banging his head uncontrollably.

Clempson needed a 16 day gap to fit in another cycle of roids before the finals

In all honesty, the delay is too long. I'll likely forget to watch because it's been off my mind for so long. The anticipation isn't what they think it is.

Probably don’t want to compete with NFL playoff games. Not sure why they couldn’t do Friday though.

The closer this game is to NYD the better it is. Even when Alabama played I was kinda ready for it to be over. It’s too far removed from the season and it’s on a Monday,

Aggie accusing someone else of dick riding is the epitome of irony.

Bama’s Dick is tired of you guys hanging on for dear life.

TV rights deal. CFB has to stay out of the way of the NFL is the short story. You to have remember it was not too long ago that the NCAA starved network TV of game coverage. The NFL delivered. NCAA didn't.

Here's the real reason:

The CFP Committee originally planned on having the CFP semi's on NY Eve with the exception of the Sugar Bowl and Rose Bowl when they hosted it every 3 years on NY Day.

But....... the TV ratings on NY Eve were awful. So.... they decided to move the games to the Saturday of the Final regular season weekend of NFL games instead of NY Eve. They wanted to play the NC game tomorrow night, Jan 6th, but the Superdome was unavailable. So.... they moved it to Monday, Jan 13th.

They are never going to play the NC game on the weekend of NFL playoffs, so Monday night is the best night for TV ratings.

I believe two years ago Nick Saban complained about the lack of preparation time btw the playoffs and the title game. Made his point that teams have to arrive early to be part of the festivities and there wasn't enough practice time. What Saban wants Saban gets, you know the REC and all
