Poor dude broke his jaw on this play and was out cold before hitting the ground.

I like the Clowney one in my recent memory.

Not SEC but SWC.
This is the hardest hit in college football.

If we're including the newbies, it's almost 30 years later and the answer is still Quentin Corryatt.

I don't remember the name of the UGA WR off the top, but I think 2004 maybe when Junior Rosengreen nearly killed the guy going across the middle.
I was at that game. The place was LOUD when the play was going on, went off the charts when the hit and fumble return happened, then went dead silent when everybody realized he had dropped like a rock with his arms and head all twisted up and lying motionless. I really thought he was paralyzed from the neck down at best. That was vicious.

Javon Bullard putting Marvin Harrison Jr to sleep is up there. That was a violent collison.Collison.
The Lewis Cine/Kyle Pitts collison was a big one too. One of those hits people could hear outside of the stadium.

He was a player. Damn shame what happened to him.

That shows how pusillanimous and out of touch the people running football - college and pro - actually are. Those are the exact type of hits fans love and want more of.
They want hits like that where the player who is hit pops back up.
Only truly demented people like those hits when they see the player on the ground unable to move or twitching or with their arms locked out due to brain damage.
That's why stadiums go silent when that happens rather then hearing cheers.
Nobody wants to see another Reggie Brown lying like this unmoving other than an occasional twitch. That's what happened after the Rosegreen hit.
That's why we have targeting now.

It's nice to see Bama getting hit by cheap shots for a change.
