ESPN tried to throw me out in 2009 for a huge theres no crying in football sign of Tebow. Ended up getting it between Corso and Herbie during the picks at the end. They need to loosen up on the signs

Every school has its traditions, and they seem to really like it so good for them. As far as I know the midnight yell hasn't killed anyone.

For now....we will see what happens later. Probably the best course of action given the uncertainty and leaves open the possibly to add later.

I think you leave them off the roster for now until you can get some clarity on the rules. There is also the aspect of the other teams potentially rostering former NFL players that would buoy the claim to adding them. If Texas, OU, South Carolina, Missouri and others are rostering those players, it further weakens the SEC's position and avenues for punishment.

A contract is defined as: "a legally binding agreement between two or more parties that creates mutual obligations enforceable by law," so by that definition, it could be argued that signing the medical waiver for a tryout is a contract.
The ambiguity of the rule is where the issue lies. That same rule also said that a player had to withdraw from the draft. By not truly defining what they consider the line of demarcation, they have opened themselves up to this line of questioning.
My personal opinion, blanket waiver for the 2022 class as long as they aren't on a 53 man roster/practice squad or were drafted.

I think that's a fair take, but one thing is blatantly obvious in all of this, the SEC has no clue how to define a professional, and they need to make a decision on what that actually entails. A rule needs to be made on exactly where the line is.
At least for football it should be anywhere from none of the 2022 class is eligible because they didn't withdraw from the draft to not appearing on the week 1 roster. The line must be drawn.

Can the SEC Commissioner define what a "former professional athlete" is? I think the rule would be considerably easier to follow if he would come out and define that term.

Aggies are the experts on collapses so you have to take any warning seriously, but I would think that LSU's brand has a good enough foundation to not come crashing down.

So what you are saying is that a school/coach can't encourage a player to sue the NCAA and send their rules down like the Aggies in November. Looks like a few schools would be in trouble if that's the case with this and other rulings.

Agreed on this 100%, I'm interested to see if the "Not formally withdrawn" from the draft affects players from the 2022 and 2021 classes who were out of eligibility at the time to withdraw from the draft.
Could that wording ultimately doom Chambliss if he was automatically entered and did not officially withdraw from the draft.
