benched the best RB on the team for banging his daughter ..

Lane spent the week in Dallas begging his ex-girlfriend to get back together with him
I think it's important to flesh out the story a little bit.
His girlfriend broke up with him because he got a coed pregnant. And her father was raising hell and threatening to sue the school and make a public mess. So they had to manage the shite out of the situation, so to speak.
Meanwhile Kiffin was stalking the Ex at her condo in Highland Park. And she had to call the cops and threaten him with a restraining order. Yet another incident that had to be managed by Carter & Co.
All this during the week of the Kentucky game. Which he lost by going for it constantly on 4th down rather than kicking field goals. And refusing to play the running back who was fricking his daughter.
So. Get ready for somewhat of a "kinetic" environment in the football complex in Baton Rouge.
As for Pete: He won the Sugar Bowl over Georgia by kicking two field goals over 50 yards that Lane would not have kicked.
So. You know. Details matter.

That 1999 State team wasn’t elite. They played the easiest schedule of all time.

Why didn't Pete lead them to a win?
Why didn’t Lane lead the lsu to wins in 2025?

You asked me if that team was better than last years team. I answered.
Are you being obtuse or are you just retarded?

Is this whole story true? I have heard the one about Dallas and Lane. I have also heard the one about the RB banging his daughter. But is that other stuff true? Given how he was at Tennessee I wouldnt doubt it

I’ve seen some scorned women in my day. Then there’s y’all. You forgot the bit about how he had to get narcaned on a bathroom floor, and then the powers that be in charge of a multi million dollar athletic department kept him in charge. LMFAO.

State in 1999 was 10-2.
I remember that team having some massive defensive linemen and an great overall defense.

Teams the 1999 Mississippi State team beat and their records
Middle Tennessee State (3-8)
Memphis (5-6)
Oklahoma State (5-6)
South Carolina (0-11)
Vanderbilt (5-6)
Auburn (5-6)
LSU (3-8)
Kentucky (6-6)
Ole Miss (8-4)
Clemson (6-6)
The SEC was hot garbage at the time
That 1999 team gets a lot of love from the State fans and yeah, they beat the teams in front of them. But they were by no means elite.

Lane played a backup WR at RB instead of a healthy NFL RB.
Why don't you explain the reasoning behind that?

I didn't realize how garbage the SEC was.
I was young at the time and they seemed good. Just looked back at the stat line from the Auburn-State game. Auburn rushed 42 times for 39 yards against them. And 7 for 28, 125 passing. And Auburn blew a 16-3 lead in the 4th.
With less than a minute to go, and up 16-10, Tuberville decided it was best to take a safety on purpose (ball was on the 22 or so). State returned the safety punt to midfield and ended up scoring a last second TD. A JP Sports Classic

Y’all played rapists, you previously hired a coach that killed a kid, your current coach was sent to rehab by his former employer all in the hopes of winning.
You also stole from children’s hospitals, basketball coach was caught for wire fraud and you re-hired.

One must ask themselves why sit the healthy leading rusher on the bench majority of year in favor of walk ons and 4th string receivers at Running Back?
