Was Arkansas' problem KJ or Briles?

Which is the bigger factor?

So Pittman rolled with KJ @ QB for the past few years and lost. He found himself on the hot seat. KJ transfers and Pittman brings in Petrino as OC, kicking offensive coordinator Kendal Briles to the curb.

KJ has now been benched by Gus (I know) at UCF due to lack of production. So my question is: Was the problem the offense? Or was the problem KJ? Two QBs played in the Auburn game and both look to be solid QBs so far. Was it coaching or playing?

I'm gonna go with not KJ because he was pretty good.

Exact same situation as Jalon Daniels, actually.

KJ is incapable of reading a defense and mediocre throwing short to mid range. Briles did a great job with him overall and held his hand and made it easy on KJ. Last year when Enos asked KJ to read a defense it was disastrous.

Cody Kennedy and the OL were huge issues as well. It was terrible the last two years.

KJ looked good at times because of Briles

Player... although Briles made some boneheaded calls at times. KJ is a great athlete, but it takes more than that to play QB at a high level.

Lol is that how it went down? Briles has been gone for a couple years and you’re missing a coach after Briles.

KJ was a limited QB. One of the toughest guys I've seen at the position though. Briles got as much out of him as you could probably.

it's come to light he was not just a cancer on the field, but a cancer in the locker room

KJ just lost his starting spot at UCF. If you're a "running QB" and Gus of all people can't make it work with you, you suck.

He's the most overrated QB I've seen in quite some time.

Just as a note, KJ got benched in favor of a 17 year old that classified early. That's how bad it is.

KJ and Briles looked good when they had Treylon Burks bailing them out. When he left the offense took a huge step back.

For the all time leading passer at Arkansas, I don't remember him leading Arkansas to any big wins.

One was responsible for a flying Superman from the seven yard line.

I’m sure Briles does not have that in the playbook.

I saw more shitty short throws from KJ than any QB in my lifetime.

He wasn't the problem. It was that piss poor offensive line.

A little of both. Briles flirted with Miss State, got a raise, turned around and tried to do it again with TCU. It didn’t work that time so he took the TCU job. Briles would also make some asinine, drive killing play calls.

Like it was mentioned earlier, KJ was a good athlete but that’s about it. KJ was pretty much finished when Treylon Burks went to the draft.
