We both know that in real life Aggies are very welcoming to all guests on campus, etc. This board is not like real life, and it has a combative angle.

What this board was like when A&M joined the SEC… reflected all the negative media attention thrown at A&M. This place was everything Texas fans hoped it would be for A&M, I’m sure.

So when you have a bunch of sidewalk fans trying to stomp successful career oriented A&M fans into the dirt because they attended A&M, it brought out a fight or flight response, mostly fight response.

And I absolutely loathe the whole “big money” talk and being richer attitude from Texas fans, or from A&M fans now. I didn’t like it when A&M fans responded that way.

Because A&M fans hated that attitude from Texas fans, so I can understand hate for it when A&M fans do it. It’s stupid. The unfortunate reality is that when people are talking stupid nonsense then sometimes stupid responses happens as a result.

We haven’t had the large alumni base we have now for the majority of our existence.

Correct me if I am wrong, but just like Brandon's policy of 'open borders', Qatar has openly provided and continues to provide safe haven for terrorist figures from groups, such as Hamas, Al-Qaeda and the Taliban. Surprisingly, and as far as we know, ISIS is not hosted.

No and yes, but the Texas constitution, will always make them a wealthy school. Their students aren’t that wealthy no matter what they tell you in the pride magazine. Their 50 dollar bumper stickers don’t make them rich.

In the Texas Constitution, the state endowed A&M and The University of Texas with millions of acres of land in West Texas. Revenue from oil and gas royalties generated on this land is placed in the PUF, and one-third of the annual distributions go directly to the Texas A&M System to fund campus operations and new construction.

That’s why they get the money they do. It’s simple.

And they even get to hire the CoSci kids to manage it with the Turners of the world. Which by the way pays like 75k a year for an experienced superintendents

That stat is BS.

Average and median are different. Yes. The Aggies may have a kid or kids that get PE degrees and make 350k a year.. but what does that say about be kids that are making jack shite to get that average salary.

For example.. Bamas biggest degree program is nursing. We all know nurses don’t make much money, but God bless them for what they do.

That also skews the average. It’s all relative. Compare average salary’s from the same degrees, from the same time period.

Give context and give details.

Two bama graduates with the same degree with one living in Birmingham or Memphis, would make less than one living in Sarasota or Palm Beach. Cost of living is more and so they get paid more.

Also, geography plays a lot in the salary that one person might make. For example, an Aggie graduate may make more money in Houston than they would in Miami. But a Florida graduate Mike make more money in Tampa than they would in Baton Rouge.

Example is if someone graduated from Alabama or Auburn in Construction science or civil Engineering and worked for Brassfield and Gorie they would make more than an Aggie because the owners of those companies are also Alabama and Auburn graduates. It would be the same scenario for someone that worked at Buckys in the corporate office or Dell computers for Texas. It’s not just simply if you go to that school or the school you make more money than this or that school. There are a lot of factors that go into how much someone makes who they have a relationship with what company they are working for and where are they located.

People forget that A&M was a small, all male military school until the mid '60s and didn't enroll women until '75. Earl Rudder (Point du Hoc) fundamentally changed the institution.

With an expanded student body, highly active former students association, and the Spirit of Aggieland, it has become one of the most endowed universities in the world. The last report I saw indicated 20 billion. By comparison, tu was at almost 50 and the next in line in the SEC was Vandy at 10. I'm not sure how accurate those numbers are as of today.

For our endowment funds we calculate a roughly 5.8% return on those investments for budgeting purposes...which is over a billion for A&M.

To the OP, no, not always wealthy but things change.
