That's a huge pull. Pruitt putting together a very strong recruiting staff. Gonna be interesting to see what he does in the coming years. He's got great connections in Alabama, hired some guys who have built some good connections in GA & now has a Tennessee guy on staff with some experience in LA. Not bad

Good timing too with the 2019 instate class probably being the most loaded in Tennessee history.

No worries for LSU. Corch Ed Oeaux has a 2nd cousin who works at a gas station in Eunice who is going to fill the role.

19 bluechip players in the state in 2019.

That's the first time we've ever put out more blue chip prospects than Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, and South Carolina in the same year.

247

As of right now, only FL, GA, and TX are ahead of TN in the SEC foot print in terms of instate talent for the 2019 class.

Austin couldn't have come at a better time.

Alright, it was funny when they were grabbing coaches from other schools but now they grab Austin Thomas from us. Why can't you Tennessee fans just be happy going to a bowl game once in a while?

The article mentions that he is taking a "similar position" at UTenn, which basically means that it is a "lateral move" for him. Coaches usually only leave a program if it's to make an "upward move."

However, what's most interesting is that UTenn "poached" him from a fellow SEC school--something which is traditionally frowned upon in this league--and similar actions have contributed to infighting in other conferences like the decaying-from-within Big XII. If UTenn had offered Thomas a higher role within their program, then that's one thing. But to hire him away from a fellow SEC school for the same position is crossing the line. Is this the first time a member school has done this since SEC-newcomer A&M tried this with Chavis?

What was he great at? This looks like an irrelevant hire.
