He's not a huge get. If you need a young kid to recruit kids from the state to Tennessee, you're in trouble. This is not a huge get. Mike Leach would be a huge get. Hell, Jeremy Pruitt wasn't a huge get, but he was compared to this guy. Tennessee is a lightweight state anyway when it comes to recruiting. UT should have no trouble there.

Somehow people feel the need to remind VOLS that it's not the 90s without acknowledging that Tennessee HS talent has skyrocketed since then. Still not sustainable for a program, but much better than it was.

No question the quantity and quality of TN high school talent has increased over the last decade or so... but bc of the state’s demographics and geography, UT isn’t in a great position to take advantage. Maybe that’ll change with Pruitt?... we’ll see.

There's 13 4* players from the Nashville area in the 2019 class alone. VOLS have done very well in the midstate in recent years and Austin Thomas will only help that. 20 years ago, the majority of football talent in this state was in Memphis/West TN

Vols do well in the mid state, but bc of the people here with all different backgrounds (most of them didn’t grow up here and have not UT allegiance), I’m not sure it’s possible to lock it down (like LSU in LA or Bama in AL).
