never said they didn't count, but he earned his masters where he was offered a job on a football staff. this wasn't a situation where he decided to go to UT to earn his masters degree and then later decided to become a coach. he has as much of connection to UT as John Gruden does if you want to look at it that way

He was offered a raise. He was also paid that because when he left for usc lsu had to pay his buyout when he called wanting to come back
