Good Lord, I didn't know he was still alive. It's been ages since he coached UGA. His political ad on behalf of Herschel Walker is pretty impressive. I think it will help Herschel

He just got out of the hospital, he’s been Ill and I hope he makes a full recovery. One of the few few that generation of coaches still with us.

I hope that's a good thing!

Seriously, he's a fine gentleman, and a credit to college football.

Dooley retired from coaching at the age of 56. He had 201 career wins at that time. He could've easily challenged for 300 or 350+ had he coached as long as others (Bowden, Paterno, Saban, etc).

Saw Vince and Gene Stallings at an event honoring Pat Dye in September. Those two guys are about the only ones left from that wonderful generation.

I have always respected and admired Coach Dooley. He coached for over twenty years at Georgia and very few coaches today reach that length of service at one place.

Hope he reaches age 100.

Herschel is a damn moron. He has too much CTE to be a politician. That and he's also a hypocrite.

He doesn’t want to take everyone’s guns, have abortion up until birth, raise taxes, spend us into oblivion, or teach our children to hate white people..so he’s got my vote.

He put in 25 seasons. First year was 1964 and last year was 1988.

Coach Dooley gave me a Auburn practice ball with API stamped on it around 1960 when he was an asst. at Auburn, and I ran into him at the 2009 Sugar Bowl (Ala/Utah) and he actually remembered the occasion we met and giving me the ball!...made a big impression on me!

And then was AD for how many years? He was obsessed with gardening.. he was also the chairman of the Arboretum Committee at UGA. After he passes and everyone starts telling their Vince Dooley stories, I'll tell mine about that subject.
