The offensive “gurus” types in college are possibly the gayest most egotistical avatar of all the college football coaches. A complete inability to understand how to field a great defense. Jerking off to their own “innovative offensive systems” and putting 600 yards of offense in meaningless games and then constantly being exposed when facing a team with a pulse on defense. These guys are almost all the same.

Granted, LSU could easily have another loss @ USCe if refs make a different call here or there.

That brings up a great point. its not like LSU has been dominating good teams either

L- LSU loses to sportswriters darling and fraud USCw
W - Nicholls 44-21
W - LSU edges one out against USCe (which as you pointed out was the outcome of the refs, right or wrong)
W - 34-17 over the hapless Bruins of UCLA
W - blows out the 2-3 South Alabama team (yawn)
W - edges Ole Piss at home in OT
W - beats the Kool Ade out of Sam Pittman's Hog

So one win over a quality opponent by 3 points. Good teams should find ways to win and while BK found ways to win in two close games, to say that LSU has a resume of a truly great team is downright bananas.

LSU would probably be ranked #1 in the country if it hadn't dropped that game, we are well aware

1. You did lose the game
2. We aren’t all aware, in this fictitious world you dream of LSU wouldn’t be #1 because it doesn’t have a strong resume.

Kiffin is the worst one. He had a reputation for being some coaching genius before he went to Ole Miss and had no record to justify it, since then he’s 40-20 or something

But agreed.

There are no truly great teams, this year, which makes it all so much more fun.

It's kinda weird that LSU's biggest competition for Florida recruits is Miami and FSU now.

Feels like the 80's all over again.

Get ready for your run of 3 straight loses. Beating up on bad teams just makes you feel better temporarily.

Not only did USC lose those games, it's the W-A-Y they lost those games at the end. Bizarre.

This coming from the UF fan base is beyond laughable. Your team is a dumpster fire. For the record, no one forgot and we'll still be the snot out of Florida next month.

No one will ever admit it but it's now a bigger loss than Bama losing to Vandy.

Disagree. Expose the weaknesses as early as possible so you can get on correcting them. Early losses are meaningless with the new format.

The alternative is being Ole Miss, Texas or Missouri and thinking you’re untouchable because you beat up a bunch of shitty teams only to get kicked in the nuts at the midpoint of the season

... but, but is USCw not a shitty team?

What's their record again, and against whom?

In this current format, scheduling a mid major as a home opener is indeed a warm up game, a scrimmage opportunity, in which you find your weaknesses.

Thus the old adage in college football that, "the most improvement you'll make all season is between games one and two."

I hope y'all whoop the sheep humping sister bangers' asses the next two years.

ACC teams HAVE TO schedule tough non-conference games because of the weakness of their conference.

In the SEC there is no reason to schedule a tough non-conf game as an opener unless an insane bunch of money is put on the table.
