If they were going to do that it would have happened last week after Bama lost to Oklahoma. There’s no reason to move them over Bama this week.

But they also stipulated it was because said team was missing their starting qb and that injuries to prominent players would be a factor.

Also, the weeks leading up to decision all the prognosticators just said "keep winning FSU and you're in." Truth is what they did was pretty ironclad as long as I have been following. They were P5, Undefeated, Conference Champions, and they only needed 1/4 of the spots, not half, unlike the BCS. Once all of that was undone, I dont think there is anything ironclad...

Watching FSU with their backup QB barely able to move the ball on a pretty average Louisville team made it clear they would have gotten annihilated by any of the other three playoff teams. Compare that to 'Bama beating #1 UGA pretty handily in Atlanta, and the choice doesn't seem that difficult in retrospect.

If this goes the way your Better Call Saul posts did they won’t.

Bama better hope they get in because it will probably be the last chance in a long time

I am not sure Alabama or South Carolina will get in but it wouldn’t upset me if USC gets in and UA doesn’t. I’m actually kind of glad to see them have some success. I don’t think either is likely to win it anyway but think Alabama has had a reasonably good season, though, with a new staff and Jalen Millroe

South Carolina ending the season ranked for the first time since Spurrier probably has really done wonders for your confidence.

You'd think you were undefeated with a blowout win over 'Bama the way some of you guys are talking.

A win on the road @ #12 provides enough justification.

So that shows Carolina is on the rise and Alabama is on a decline. Face it Saban ain't coming back.

2025 CFB recruiting
'Bama at #1 currently
SC at #25

Yeah, good look with that rise. This year might be the top of the mountain for you guys if we're being honest.

Why would a 6-6 team jump Bama?

I’m a Bama fan and I couldn’t care less. There’s really no team that has a legitimate gripe about getting left out this season. Ole Miss has 2 terrible losses, Bama has 2 terrible losses, South Carolina lost to LSU which is a terrible loss and to both Bama and Ole Miss. Miami hasn’t beaten anyone with a pulse and lost to Syracuse. The other so called bubble teams played a weaker schedule than most of Texas high schools face. In other words, if you get left out of the playoffs this season, you’ve got no one to blame but yourself

This is ignorance on display. Bama still is recruiting better than 99% of college football. Deboer didn’t just forget how to coach. If he had an average quarterback against Tenn, Vandy, and Oklahoma, all 3 of those games would’ve been wins. Milroe is just the most inconsistent quarterback in the country and was terrible in all 3 of those losses.

So you use recruiting rankings to say you're not on the decline just to turn around and blame your 3 losses on the lack of recruiting a good QB

We have as good a case as anyone else but we didn't earn shite.

That’s my thing. No one can complain about shite now that it’s 12 team.

You lost 2-3 times. Cry me a river that you’re not in the playoff.

Teams I feel bad for are the ones that literally couldn’t have done anything different (because they went undefeated) and don’t get a shot.
