Scott Frost, Tom Herman, Willie Taggart and Lovie Smith

make more money than like 90% of other head coaches, how f'ing absurd is that.

Anyone know what his buyout would be if fired after year 3?

7.5 million time number of years left. We're so dumb. We're never going to get rid of him. We're just going to have to deal with his #1 recruiting classes and his rapid improvement of the team.

And it's pretty obvious he doesn't even care anymore. He's completely checked out. Took our money and sits around watching netflix. Nothing we can do about it.

It's not so much of a buyout as it is he's fully guaranteed.

so that means A&M would have to pay him his full contract amount even if he's fired for cause?

Of course not. Only if he is fired without cause.

So he's not exactly "FULLLY guaranteed", it's more like a buyout...?

Lovie Smith is clearly the most overpaid coach on that list. They are all overpaid, but geez Illinois.

I'm surprised Brian Kelly at ND only makes $2.1 million a year with no bonuses.

I thought Chip Kelly leveraged UF's interest for a better deal at UCLA. Seems he was just scared of the SEC. OTOH, he may stick around for a while since he isn't costing them a boatload.

Harbaugh's salary just proves how pathetic Michigan has become.

7 1/2 million dollars for a coach who has never won his conference. Ever. not at Stanford, and not at Michigan. Amazing.

Malzahn at 5 is ridiculous. Mullen at 8 is pretty bad too.

Agreed. Why are they paying that much for a program that is currently well below Vanderbilt's level?

Arky paying more for less,
Apparently.

Odd to me that you'd pick out the 36th highest paid on this list and in his first year and say that.

If Lovie has been making $5M/year since he got to Illinois, he's making over $2.1M per win.
