PER espn
Urban Meyer will retire from coaching after Ohio State's appearance in the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day, the school announced Tuesday.

Ryan Day, who currently is Ohio State's offensive coordinator, will take over as the Buckeyes' head coach on Jan. 2.

Meyer, Day and Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith will discuss the decision at a news conference Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET.

Meyer owns a career record of 186-32 and has coached the Buckeyes to an 82-9 record in seven seasons at the school

No it won't.

Urban will coach USC or Notre Dame. Mark it down.

Will Urban be remembered as a winner or a whiner?

It makes sense. With Brohm staying at Purdue, it's just a matter of time.

He's not really retiring until after their bowl game.

Will they reach out to Mark Stoops?

I wouldn't be surprised if this was true. Day's name was being thrown around for jobs, but they kept saying he wasn't going anywhere as he was the "coach in waiting" when Urban retired.

His legacy is program builder with lots of drama.

Thanks for the titles, though.
