I bet the UGA thing is in regards to the Jim Harrick Jr. stuff. The AU stuff has to be sociology.
My guess would be the swimming thing that just wrapped up this year. Or maybe Harrick. Hell, maybe they're digging all the way back to Jan Kemp.

I have to sign up for it? No thanks. Not surprising an Auburn fan has a login on Bamamag though.

It's a scout log in that works for all boards. But nice assumption. You and CIYE should hang out.

And the Auburn issue is about Sociology Gate from a few years back. Remember this is a lawsuit to make the NCAA look bad.

First and foremost, any SEC fan can laugh at auburn and UGA all you want, but it's sort of like one stripper looking down on another stripper because she gives hand jobs in the VIP room. None of us in this conference will be replacing the Virgin Mary any time soon.
I think college football (as well as basketball) is on borrowed time now. There are all sorts of exceptions to the following statement, but we all know in our hearts the generalization is true: College football and college basketball teams are not made up of college students. And since most of us here love college sports, we just try to avoid the topic and pretend otherwise...or point our fingers at our rivals and claim that our own transgressions are okay because we don't take it as far.
I don't want to see the system broken up, because I think a lot of good comes from college athletics. Most of the money generated that is gained from "exploiting" the players ends up in good places, like funding scholarships for minor sports, or building campus facilities that benefit all. That being said, it gets harder and harder to justify the hypocrisy of the system, and whatever happens from here, we are all going to be impacted.

It's a class action lawsuit. They want as many people as possible on it. That's why they cite so many schools. Get enough people and the NCAA says frick it, let's settle.

Easy to do.... accused, NCAA colonoscopy, this is VERY old.. We have a very strong compliance department, most investigated program the last 10 years, last probation was Eric Ramsey which happened before most of you were born and would be minor today...
AUBURN, Ala. -- The NCAA determined that Auburn did not commit academic fraud in allowing students, including athletes in football and other sports, to take courses that required little or no time in the classroom.
The NCAA's findings, released Friday, stated that Auburn committed only secondary violations involving student-athletes who repeated the courses after completing their eligibility for sports in 2005 and 2006.
The NCAA had investigated claims that a sociology professor was helping football players and other athletes stay eligible through independent study courses, which allow students to avoid classroom time.

Careful. It's about the same thing that Patrick Beverley accused Arkansas of. Glass houses and shite.

This would not be limited to AU and UGA. Sorry folks but again, big time schools all do this stuff. What irritates my arse is that schools like Michigan and Ohio State claim to be holier than thou then whenever an academic fraud thing rises up they are usually the first mentioned. Remember Andy Katzenmoyer at tOSU?
Straight up, a lot of these players have trouble stringing sentences together much less get an education from an accredited major university.

It's a lawsuit based on not providing the academic opportunity expected in return for a student pledging to compete on the field for a given university. I believe the lawsuit spans from 1989 to 2013, IIRC from the cbs sports article I read earlier this AM. So, it stands to reason UGA is getting drug up in this for the Harrick fiasco (thanks Michael Adams!) and Auburn for Sociology and FSU for the tutors-taking-online-assignments-for-athletes, etc. This isn't a lawsuit that is going to expose any scandals we didn't already know about.
So, OP is full of shite.
