Violent preseason rankings are absolutely worthless. A bunch of coaches and/or so called journalists vote for their favorite teams. It's meaningless.

Is using their star ranking from when they came out of HS even the best way to rank portal classes though? Seems like it wouldn't be particularly accurate

88.23 v 88.09 please. You let that keep your hopes up. But don't forget who your HC is.

I think it’s a fair measure for who injected the most immediate new “talent” to their roster. It’s a very tough thing to gauge so should be taken with huge grain of salt. But cfb is hard to follow currently. It’s a decent model for who had the most successful off-the-field 2025-2026 but it’s going to have inaccuracies for sure

Not looking up your past posts, but I’m sure you were arguing the opposite when LSU finished #1 based on average star rating for high school recruits in December.

Ya'll have a heck of a head start on us and about everyone else in the league in the decline department.

Teams that have to build mostly off the portal keep making it seem like HS recruiting is not important, and only transfers are.

The majority of Alabama's portal pickups have been specialists and depth pieces, too.
Well we have all the positions in this class that you mentioned (kicker, punter, LS). If you don’t see how having a really high number of commits (almost double) affects the overall average I can’t really help you there. Bama has a good class I haven’t said otherwise. Just pointing out the obvious that you obviously just don’t get lol. Also the average is minimum difference anyway. What are we even saying here? Lol

Let me know how many of those freshman/hs guys start next year. 1/2 will leave by end of 2nd year. Good luck.

lsu fans having a problem with life lately.
The Rant has turned into one giant LSU circle jerk seeking validation. As a long time Alabama fan we have had our low moments but I have never seen the desperation I have from a fanbase like the Tigers have on display over the last month.

Having not seen the top 50 you may have the lowest average in the top 50

Indiana is about to win a title from the transfer portal. Not high school kids. Most of those high school kids will probably leave Alabama.

ole piss fans told us LSU was ranked in the 20s.
Going by average recruit rankings they're not even in the top ten nationally, and ranked and behind Georgia, TAMU, Tennessee, Texas and Alabama.
So not that great. OK, but not great, not by a long shot.
On the bright side, you're still ranked ahead of Florida in that category, but just barely.

Probably about the same

These ratings are crap because the don't account for portal exits. And don't pretend all exiting players will never be missed.
