The average age of all of those who have died from covid is 78. The average life expectancy in this country is 78.

Even that Ferguson tool in England who who pushed for big shutdowns admitted that 63% of those who died from covid would likely be dead within a year anyway due to age or other illness.

This is entirely political there are solutions to this. They would probably have half the kids doing distance leanring anyway.

Administrators aren't worried so much about losing football--they're worried about losing EVERYTHING. If classroom attendance results in mass sickness and death of professors and students all is lost, not just football revenue.

Canceling football enables administrators to claim interest in student health no matter what happens.

Shut it all down.
There’s no way to know what the danger is. We have no data. We know of no analogous situations with Coronavirus where we could predict the likelihood of your scenario. Ergo, we should all move into caves and await the vaccine. Thank you, good sir, for your valiant efforts fighting this pandemic.

These people want an end to football period.

They want an end to eating meat.

They want an end to driving nice gasoline powered cars.

They want all oil companies out of business.

They don't care what they have to do to get this.

That's the liberal mentality these days and the mentality of the current generation. If it requires an above average work ethic to accomplish something, we might as well not even try it.

Why do people keep letting medical professionals dictate our final decisions. They have no perspective on what society forfeits in order to obtain the marginal increases in safety that they seek. They don't even have proper perspective of the health and wellness that is sacrificed by radically changing our society.

This is the problem with our society. Why listen to people who have spent their life studying something we know nothing about?.....but their opinions affect our lives negatively so they know not what they speak of.

Why? Is it because I don't agree with you?

I know nothing about medicine. I have learned through the years to pay attention to the ones who do..........even if it inconveniences my life.

ETA Every single one of us know people who have had yearssss added to their lives because of medical treatments. Now all of a sudden these experts don't know what they are talking about?

All they have asked is for us to wear a mask and gloves and social distance. How hard is that? Many won't even do that.

I manage projects for a living and use consultants to perform testing and develop scopes that have PhD’s in their field of expertise. My degree is in a different field of study. It has been my experience that while experts can focus on a task given to them, they have difficulties making a firm recommendation that incorporates the risks associated with the execution and financial considerations. Many times they have difficulties stepping back and looking at something from a practical basis. Heaven forbid that you bring other experts into the equation. Your expert will either start discounting everything they have done or they choose to go down a different path out of principal. There is a reason that my company chooses to use project managers that have a different educational background than the area they manage. It is my responsibility to make final decisions and steward the task to completion.

I state that to point out that experts shouldn’t be decision makers. They generally aren’t well rounded enough to look at the total picture. You have to look at total risk when making a decision. What is the probability? What are the most likely consequences? You then compare that calculated risk to other potential risks, including the do nothing option. If we lived our entire lives fearing every risk out there, we’d end up never leaving our homes.

Example - Is there a risk of people and players getting heat stroke if it is 100 degrees during a 2 PM game? Yes. Should we just not play then? Maybe certain demographics shouldn’t attend games when it is 100 degrees and maybe teams can accommodate players to minimize the probability of heat stroke. You would identify the risks and reduce or eliminate them. You wouldn’t cancel the game. Also, is it the University‘s responsibility to prevent people susceptible to heat illness from attending? No. That is where personal responsibility comes into play. Evaluate risks on your own and make a decision you feel comfortable with.

The big secret is to have medical experts that confirm your networks bias on. There are probably a million medical experts in this country that would slap that c$%#s face for saying it's too dangerous while students are allowed to go to class.

If you cancel football, what do you think will happen to admissions relative to schools who don't go full commie lock down?
