If tweet fails to load, click here. I was at the game and can confirm; Tre’s grandparents and whole family routinely sit in the handicap section just above the first base dugout. There were about 8 of them there tonight, he was waving to them after the HR. Liberty coach misinterpreted and went ape shite, escalated so that the Liberty dugout were losing their minds and January (the home plate ump who Phelps showed up the previous AB on a bad strike call) took it upon himself to go nuclear.
No appeals process either, Phelps now has to miss first game of the Supers. For waving to his grandma.

The Liberty coach was booed for good reason. He said he was protecting his players.... total BS.

A few thoughts
1. No one here is gonna side with a team when one of their players gets ejected who is not a fan of that team. Only time that would be different is if it's blatantly obvious he did absolutely nothing to warrant it.
2. I agree that it seems incredibly harsh even if he were doing what they accused him of. Ejection is okay. Suspended for another game for that? Crazy. Suspension should really be only if you have caused bodily harm or attempted to by your actions.
3. Their coach said what he said to them was bad, but then said he had no idea what he said. Then backed up even further when he found out his family was siitting above the dugout and said it's on the umps and not him. Then he refused to answer any more questions about it.
Bottom line though: We dominated the conference this year. No one is gonna cry for us.
