I’m actually thinking more about our own fan base. Been a while since we got this kind of red meat tossed into Athens. Only comparable game I can think of is Bama in 08, maybe LSU in 13 and its not like we hadn’t seen those teams play in Athens before.

This is as unique a matchup as can still be found in 2019. I think Notre Dame fans show up and UGA fans take at least a few days off work to drive over and party

Louisville. A non-conference game. Just like you guys are playing. Right?

What SEC team plays their regularly scheduled home games in the benz? Once you answer that we will move forward.

The only network that has the MLB is FOX

Maybe it's PGA. I just remember some sort of scheduling conflict for CBS that kept them from broadcasting CFB in September. I also can't remember a CBS primetime CFB game in September.

I can't remember the specifics but there were some years where either golf or tennis had the first week or so of the season. I don't think it was every yeaer though becauuse we played SC in week 2 on CBS for several years in the early/mid richt era. That shouldn't affect ND game though being as late as it is.

I said earlier but I don't think the 8pm CBS slot has existed all that long, like maybe just within the last ~10ish years or so and it's primarily always just been used for bama/lsu.

Tennessee/Florida used to have it periodically (1998, 2001, 2004). Florida/LSU for a while. Alabama/Florida did it in 2010/2011.

Used to be US OPEN tennis, which is a day thing. They haven’t had this for a couple of years at least now.

Early Prediction UGA loses.

we must never be hyped to beat auburn then, considering our massive run of success in the series.

Why is it assumed that both games will not be 8pm on CBS?

This in not a SEC on CBS game. Notre Dame vs Navy played at 8pm on CBS last year.

Because in the standard contract CBS has annually they only have 1 weekend with an 8pm time slot. As mentioned earlier in the thread there was one year around 2011 that they pulled some strings and did some finagling to manage 2 of them, but that was only because bama/lsu was shaping up to be enormously huge. I have no idea what they had to do to get it though. But that 2nd one they got in 2011 was a spur of the moment last minute thing. If they come out in May or June of this year and annoucne uga/nd is at 8pm, it's pretty likely bama/lsu is at 3:30 unless they've redid their contract with the networks.

Yes it is, it's an SEC home game. They have "SEC on CBS" games when UF hosts FSU, we host tech, etc.

People keep getting so confused by the fact we're playing ND, or any OOC team. The opponent couldn't matter less...it's an SEC home game. That's all that matters.

I will be there tore up from the floor up spitting on all of them.

Actually, they hosted us well and I will refrain from my spitting for this game only. I will resume my spitting the following week and def against Auburn.

Well Alabama has been on the ABC prime time game several times. Not my fault Georgia can’t do it.

Because y’all choose to play neutral site games vs teams with an abc contract. There is no significance to it though.

LMAO!Jake, you don't even understand the CBS SEC-TV contract but now you understand how ratings work?

Did you not realize that ND made the CFB playoffs last year and finished with a top 5 ranking?

The UGA/ND will be one of top rated regular season games in '19. It will be a minimum a top 10 regular season game.

Do you not realize ND still has a huge national following?
