Yea those academic ratings dont come cheap, a school has to pony up a lot of "contributions" and "honorariums" to the right people to get there

In their defense, Starbucks (where most of their grads end up) does not pay well

UGA is very difficult to get into.

And pretty tough to get out of.

My daughter goes there and had a 3.85 and I couldn’t be prouder.

As far as being woke it is ridiculous the amount of woke garbage the professors heap on the kids.

Well, that's not true at all.

UGA is a fine university. I’m proud to have my undergrad from Athens.

That being said, academic smack is unnecessary. Everybody in the SEC is a better school than they used to be.

Good for her, and you should be proud!

Absolutely true, and also true of all colleges and most high schools. It's a shame, really.

You sound like a politician that spews stupid things over and over until he believes it when everyone else knows it’s lie.

Most SEC schools are well respected and while I’m sure UGA is a fine school they are not the best athletic nor academic program. They are good though.

Are you asking about Academics, Athletics, or both combined?

Athletics: average program ranking for the past 10 years of SEC schools.

LSU 17.6
Ark. 19.9
UK 20.2
UA 22.9
AU 32.6

Academics:

Fast forward to 2021: UF is now ranked No. 5 among public universities in the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings released Sept. 13.

Well we all know that UF isn’t the best athletic program. That latest recruiting class doesn’t speak well for the future either. Their academics are ok though. Before 1990 UF had won zip. Their bumpy little run is over. Been a long time since they were even relevant - and we all know that a lot of their posters think that winning the East is irrelevant - at least when UGA wins it.

Academically, Vandy has the best reputation but even nationally it is not exactly elite. TAMU is pretty decent in some fields (CS). UGA and Florida are solid but nationally not comparable to Texas, Cal, UCLA, UNC, Michigan, etc. Auburn would be next in the academic rankings and then the rest… now combined academics+athletics (football) UGA is probably #1 in the SEC at the moment. However, I would rank Duke #1 in the south (both combined).
