Here's a scenario:

1. Florida takes care of business against a reloading LSU team with a QB starting in his first career road test

2. Georgia loses to a loaded Alabama team in Tuscaloosa

3. Georgia drops one more SEC game along the way (South Carolina? Auburn? Tennessee?)

4. Georgia beats Florida in the WLOCP somehow despite having a new offense

5. Florida finishes 11-1, Georgia finishes 10-2

6. Florida goes to the SECCG, beats Bama, and wins the CFP

The way the schedule is set up, Florida could lose to Georgia and still very reasonably win the East.

Don't get me wrong, I want to beat Georgia, but this scenario would be fun, too.

Would DawgRant survive this?

Has Florida been surviving their 10-2 seasons? The bigger question is if MuLLLen can finally score more than 17 points against Smart. Thought he was considered a great offensive mind, but 17 points isn’t much.

Not sure how Florida can't manage a win over Georgia.. especially Kirby. How about just beat them in the WLOCP for once. Then go to the title game for the rematch against LSU. Still waiting for that SEC championship rematch. Would be epic.

It's an entirely reasonable scenario if you take away the "beat Bama and win the CFP" part

If we lose to Georgia, win the East, and lose to Bama, it wouldn't be worth it

Agreed -- we need to beat Georgia. Just pondering the theoretical reaction to a hypothetical.

Your offense is ridiculously loaded again

Georgia isn't beating Bama in Tuscaloosa

First of all, Florida isn’t beating LSU.
Secondly, you’re acting as though you would be surprised if Georgia loses a game they’re not supposed to.

UF getting over the Bama hump after losing to UGA would send UGA fans into a nuclear meltdown. Don't lie

It's not a certainty, but UF will be favored

Again -- first road test for an LSU team replacing 75% of its starters and its Heisman QB.

Florida obviously could beat LSU, but i think with Dan he's always going to have a few moments when he outsmarts himself in the heat of the moment & will end up costing them a game they wouldn't have otherwise lost.

Florida may not beat LSU, but I think we will be a 5-7 point favorite in that game.

OP's scenario has about a 5% chance of happening imo. I think 9-10 wins is about right for us unless our OL takes a giant leap forward in '20. I think Mullen did a great job of scheming around our blatant weakness last season. I think they will improve, but just how much is the question, and also in question is if Malik Davis can regain his 2017 form and/or Can Lorenzo Lingard live up to the hype? Also need some talented younger players to step in and produce on defense.

We can beat any team on our schedule, but we can also lose to about 7 of them as well.

I have seen multiple people talk about Mullen out-smarting himself lately. When something doesn't work that is different from the norm, this is what chickenshit people say. If you have any balls, you son't stop being unpredictable. I love Mullen's play calling. When you don't have an advantage, you had better figure out a way and 2 runs, a pass and a punt ain't gonna cut it.

As a gameplanner he is the best in the conference, but he needs to pull in at least one really elite class though to get y'all over the hump IMO. Not sure he'll be able to do that.
