but I LOVE WHERE WERE HEADED NOW!!

Multiple Natty's otw!

Mark Richt's first two years at Georgia, also his first two years as a head coach:

8–4/#22
13–1/#2 (SEC Title)

Kirby Smart's first two years at Georgia, also his first two years as a head coach:

8–5
13–2/#2 (SEC Title)

Multiple Natties were on the way with Richt, too, I'm sure. We were for sure going to win one with Petrino. At the end of 2011, Les Miles was going to name his retirement year at LSU.

The truth is you don't know what's going to happen and you'd be a moron not to take the for sure 2012 title over what could be with Kirby Smart.

Yes. Then whenever we fire Richt years later, we bring Kirby home from South Carolina.

As dumb as it sounds, I have to take kirby.

Richt had a crap class in2013 (a couple of months after the epic seccg). And that was on the tail end of crap roster management (69 scholarship athletes healthy and eligible for the seccg against Bama in 2012). Even with a championship, the roster management would be the same.

Ask Florida and Bama how important recruiting is to the life line of the program. I will take where we are now.

2002 was final rank of 3. Its not as similar to 2017 as it appears on the surface. We had many close games vs opponents who had no business playing with us and didn't have to face a strong opponent in the seccg or the bowl game.

Richt also always struggled with the OL situation, which isnt an issue now thanks to Brad Pittman, and wasn't defense enough to keep the defense up, which also isn't an issue now.

That's an Auburn answer. You know damn well with Bama in the West you basically got no fricking shot without someone as insanely good as Cam Newton.

Georgia doesn't want to just luck into a Natty. We want to be in the playoffs and contend every year. frick that settling weak arse Auburn plan.

Starts are definitely similar purely from an in-season standpoint, but the recruiting and excitement is far greater now than it was with Richt in the early 00s. We signed 13 top 100 players this past season. In 2003, we signed 3.

Top 3 class
Top 1 class

Yeah, completely on the same path as Richt. I guess whatever it takes for you guys to convince yourselves that UGA isn't a real threat for titles. Good luck with that on the field.

I was not a fan of Kirbys defensive philosophy. I really liked Pruitt s defanive philosophy much better.

His philosophy is suited to his personnel strengths.

With FSU and UGA, he sent DB pressure much more often. But with Bama, his front 4 is so much better, there wasn't a need to build sacks, pressures, and tackles for a loss from that many angles.

Still... he is more aggressive than Kirby in his pressures.

If UGA wins those games, Richt is obviously there until he retires.

No. I loved Mark Richt, so that has nothing to do with it. I just think Kirby has built us for the long haul. I am a long range kind of guy. I want sustained success.

I can’t find one UGA fan proclaiming the Dawgs won’t compete for National Titles. In this scenario, we were asked if we’d take a guaranteed Championship over the the possibility of a winning a few (based on Kirby’s trajectory). College Football is cyclical, so there are no guarantees. You take the title everyday of the week, it’s a no-brainer. Those who say otherwise are lying to themselves. Period

Not knowing what I know now. A title five years ago may as well be 20 years ago, and if Richt is here until he retires Kirby goes to one of our rivals. That would be a disaster.

Nick Marshall and Stidham say hello

Auburn played one of the toughest schedules in SEC history in 2010, and went undefeated. Luck my arse. Luck is being in the weakest SEC East ever.

Duh. So does Auburn. We've been to multiple NC games this decade. So that 'weak arse Auburn plan' isn't too bad.

If Cam Newton doesn't toss a laptop out of a building he likely wins a title at Florida. Don't a be a dumbass. You got lucky he was available.

Stidham lost 4 games and Nick Marshall was another kid you lucked into that you didn't initially land because Georgia in standard Richt fashion let him walk.

It's 2018 - What happened 7/8 years ago is growing more irrelevant by the day. We just played for a title. The Auburn plan not looking too good but hey- at least you got Gus locked up.
