These numbers need to be normalized for platform(s). Network (over the air) broadcasts always have much higher viewer numbers in comparison to cable/streaming (paid watching). I don't know what the history of the bama-Lsu game is but if in past years it was shown on ABC and this year on ESPN, that would explain the difference.

Good. I'm keeping YouTube TV and I HATE Disney, ESPN, ABC and how they play this game.

Disney did it two years ago with Charter / Spectrum at this time.

Always the same tactic (kind of like one political party during the Government shutdown).

The content creators have an inflated view of their own self-value, when they force YouTube TV, Charter and others to accept the higher rates, these rates have to be passed on to the consumer.

It's the reason why YouTube TV was great at $20 /month, Ok at $64, Currently at $80 ... all in 6 years. And will go up again if Google bends the knee to the that shitty, little rat-mouse.

At some point, I will just drop completely, if it continues this climb.

I don't think its all due to network idiocy but instead the product on the field. The commercials are just horrible...there is no flow at all to the game...its bad in TV, its untenable in person. Then every play takes a long time for the review....they have just ruined the game.

Starting the second half is a good example. They just did 20 straight minutes of commercials. They return and kick-off....and almost every game go to yet another commercial break before the first snap of the second half. UGA has been in games where the last 90 seconds of a half or a game would take 30 minutes between reviews, time outs and commercials. Its a unenjoyable product.

Had Disney plus for a few years when the kids were smaller. Got rid of it because they don’t watch that shite now.

Why do so many low IQ people distill that issue to this overly simplistic mantra?

It may be simple but it is true. Disney is trying to raise the price. YTTV is trying to keep the price down for its customers. Which one is being greedy? YTTV would make more money by agreeing to the higher price and marking up the package keeping the same % profit margin.

Sounds like a capitalist to me. Doesn't like a product, decides not to buy it.

Unless I missed the part where he said the government should take over the broadcasts and give to the masses for "free"

Completely and totally disagree. I am not a huge fan of the unlimited transfer portal business just because it runs counter to the core concept of a team, but I do have to admit that between that and the advent of NIL it seems that more schools are able to be competitive across the board, which has vastly improved the quality of the CFB product. Combine that with ABC/ESPN's markedly better scheduling of SEC games and this has been the most fun year to watch in a very, very long time.

Why is Disney catching shite but none for Google? I mean we are talking about a $210 billion company (Disney) and a $3.4 trillion company (Google).

I think there's plenty of room to shite on both of them myself.

1000 commercials per game and 1000 yellow flags thrown per game.

Yep , the game continues to slow down , almost excruciatingly so.
For the casual viewer , whose team is not involved , many find something
else to watch or do. The networks and their dollar greed had better be careful .

Funny, most felt like I sounded like an idiot when I stated missing Gary Danielson and Brad Nessler on CBS...

But to your point, I'm just one of the working poor, who has watched my wages get torn in half over the past 15-20 years, who support capitalism (but not captive/captured markets).

This would be the second lowest rated Bama-LSU game on ABC or CBS since 2013

LSU already having three losses, the last of which was a blowout, and firing their coach probably had a little to do with it.

I don’t like taking sides when it’s two mega corporations fighting usually but Disney is being greedy as frick and I don’t blame Google/Youtube TV for telling them to pound sand.

There are enough illegal streams people put up on YouTube for free so people can avoid having to pay Disney/ESPN for their streaming App

on a Saturday I've flipped on ABC at 12 PM and basically left it on until 10 PM

I'm also wondering how much ESPN's promotion of multicast on their app has improved ratings this year.

Now on Saturdays, except when Bama is playing, I always have 4 games on at once, even if it's a trash game on the ACC network. So I imagine there are a lot more eyeballs on some less interesting matchups than in years past.

Well it’s because Louisiana State is a pure shite clown show.

They are a regional team that most college sports fans only know exits because of LSU’s obsession with and inferiority complex of Alabama.

It’s all those poor morons think about, trying to measure up to diddy Bama.

Because Google already had a price increase that pissed off their customers earlier this year and they are trying to avoid having another one now that Disney is allegedly trying to increase their price 20% over last year.

Disney is the “bad guy” in this situation. They are the ones increasing their price and withholding their product.

Read my post above.

The tech companies (overall) have driven growth over the past 20 years by driving costs down. Google (for all the flack they catch), made their name by providing free email, then mapping services (where most, like Microsoft charged for this).

The product delivered now vs 6 years ago is no better, but you and I get the privilege of paying 3-4x the price. The product is great, watch where you want, TV or mobile; at home or on vacation. It will not be for much longer.

Agree games are evenly matched. But that parity’s mostly owing to the slide of top teams rather than the rise of decent ones. Good coaching is more critical than ever. Even moderate execution/football IQ = 8-9 wins now.
