OM people you are lying to yourselves and believing those lies so you feel good, but in reality it's back to Runtsville for you. Your HC wasn't a good DC I doubt he'll make a good HC? We'll see.

Legal experts:
Does the NCAA just stand up in court, produce paperwork showing the University of Mississippi as a member & say “ Your Honor, they agreed to this”

Or produce Chambliss’ signature
from the Eligibility Center?
Pretty sure that’s him agreeing to NCAA rules & bylaws.

OM dummies it doesn't matter if you actually play what matters is if you're on the team and used your one RS year.

If I was his agent and had a first round grade I would advise him against this.

If nfl teams think he is litigious it could hurt his draft stock.

But he wasn't a starter and wasn't playing not because of illness but he was 2nd or 3rd string.

What is their reasoning for why he should be awarded another year?
Apparently, everyone knows he has no future in the NFL. His talent fits an NCAA system. NFL doesn't have a system for him.

Anything to win I guess - but we’ll blame NIL and portal. No your insatiable appetite to win as a fan caused it.

You have to wonder if this is best for the kid long term. The odds of increasing his draft stock more than they presently are is a huge gamble.

IMO, he would he the second QB taken.

no he didn't

2020 - LSU (COVID, didn't count)
2021 - Auburn - freshman year - played in 9 games
2022 - Auburn - only played in 4 games, redshirt
2023 - Texas St - RS sophomore - played and started all year
2024 - WKU - got hurt in game three, granted medical redshirt
2025 - Tulane - kicked off the team before the season started
2025 - Georgia St - RS Junior - played in 7 games
2026 - Incarnate Word - RS Senior year

His case is obviously odd. He got a free year due to COVID, redshirted a year at Auburn, and got a medical redshirt due to a season ending injury 3 games into the season. he also technically has an extra school he never actually played at due to an arrest, then transferred again before the next season ever started. But again, absent the free COVID year which has made dumber situations dumber, he's really just a 6th year senior with a normal redhsirt year plus a medical redshirt injury season.

But no, he wasn't a grad transfer from Auburn. He left Auburn after his 3rd year post high school. That dude didn't graduate in 3 years, I promise you that.

How the frick do you think Finley got a degree in three years?

He spent his freshman year at LSU then two at Auburn-and no, he did not graduate.

The NFL has a check waiting for him.

What doesn't he just go pick it up?

But likely more than the NFL check waiting the following year. Too many variables to gamble with, IMO: better QB draft class next year, risk of injury, new OC and older age getting drafted.

I bet Nussmeier wishes he was drafted last year when he was still viewed favorably by the NFL.

this is more than likely the answer. he's very new to big time college football. this time last year, he was running around a campus with an on-campus enrollment of 807 people. he's not thinking further down the road than the next co-ed to slay. and, i guess that's ok. to each his own. still not sure the lawsuit will get him another year, though. if it does, things will be much different than they were with Kiffin at the helm. despite what OM people are trying to make themselves believe

If the NCAA ruling quoted by you had been a fair and accurate reflection of the evidence actually presented, you’d have a point. But it’s not. Tom Mars has tweeted out a redlined version of one piece of documentary evidence, showing the portion of that document that the NCAA cherry-picked while ignoring immediately adjacent text that was directly contrary to the NCAA’s conclusions.

The NCAA also ignored a submission apparently sent by the Ferris State coach. I don’t know how to link the image of it but the text includes the following:

“I am writing in support of Trinidad Chambliss' request for an additional year of eligibility.
“During the 2022 season, Trinidad was suffering from some serious medical conditions. He was being treated for Post COVID complications that included heart palpitations and chest pains. In addition, he was suffering from Chronic tonsilitis and adenoiditis that
severely impacted his breathing, sleep and overall physical condition.”

Chambliss doesn’t have the COVID year or the JUCO distinction to use as an argument. His case is more similar to that of former Tennessee basketball player Zakai Zeigler, who played four full seasons and then tried to sue for a fifth year of playing eligibility. In June, a federal judge denied Zeigler’s request for a preliminary injunction that would have allowed him to play this season.

This is why they are judge shopping in Mississippi State Court. They hope to get an injunction that will last the season and don't care what happens after that. The NCAA will request a change of venue as their first order of business in this case.
