Second year in a row someone has transferred from UGA to Alabama to get more playing time.

Jermaine Burton transferred away and to get more PT and had a similar season to his two Georgia seasons.
maybe he just isn't that good

Our ILB coaching and development has been embarrassing for the last few years. That guy is gone but you don't just immediately make up for lost years overnight.
Georgia is light years ahead of us at that position. It's entirely possible their 4th ILB is more developed and "call the defense" ready than our rising 2nd year guys opposite Lawson.

So, I get the purpose of this thread…
BUT y’all are discrediting Marshall’s contributions to UGA. He definitely was in the two deep and played a lot in all 15 games. I appreciate what he did for UGA and hope he has success at Bama. There’s just too much young talent coming behind him.

We’re not discrediting his talent we’re just discrediting the BS excuse bammers are giving for not taking Speights. He is clearly, without a doubt the better prospect.

Marshall was our best cover linebacker.
Good in other areas, too.
He definitely is a good get for Alabama. I definitely didn't want to see him leave. If he continued to develop at UGA, I still think we could have made a high draft pick out of him.
