Monken tailors his offense to the personnel to a degree.

I'd say he tailors it to the opponent as much as to his personnel. It's more of a NFL type approach where he tries to find a mismatch against the opponent's defense and exploits it rather than running a particular style.

We've had about 5-6 completely different offensive attacks in various games this year that have seemed based on exploiting the weakness of the opponent's defense.

We ran it down Auburn's throat.
We avoided the middle of the field and went with a wide passing game vs Oregon (to RB's and WR's)
SC and FL were all about exploiting the middle of the field (TE's especially)
UT was a deep passing attack the first half and clock killing running in the second.
UK was using up clock, short passes and lots of running.
LSU was middle of the field passing in the first half and running out the clock in the second.
OSU was a deep passing attack.
TCU we did whatever we wanted.

We don't really run a "style" of offense anymore. We have enough talent at every position that our style is to exploit the weakness of the defense.

To be fair to TCU we did kick a FG on our 2nd possession.

We lost all our experience in To'o To'o and Moody moving on to the NFL. Plus, the guys under them are young and were taught by Pete fricking Golding, so they really don't know shite about playing ILB. ILB has been the worst coached position on the team since Golding took over.

So, BAMA acquiring Marshall is a huge get for us with both knowledge and experience. Marshall is really going to help out. Some of our other ILBs have HUGE upside, but they need to be coached well first.

How many snaps did he get at bama?

From my calculations, he got 579 in 2022.

464 in 2020
388 in 2021
579 in 2022

again, I'm not arguing that Bama rotates their WRs as much as UGA, or throws the ball to TEs as much as UGA, I was simply refuting the claim of the original post I replied to that implied that he couldn't get on the field enough at UGA so he came to Bama.

Our ILB coaching and development has been embarrassing for the last few years. That guy is gone but you don't just immediately make up for lost years overnight.

Georgia is light years ahead of us at that position. It's entirely possible their 4th ILB is more developed and "call the defense" ready than our rising 2nd year guys opposite Lawson.

Gotta believe after reading Bama Board about how not only was Golding not good DC - but was the ILB coach as well - where Bama ILBs didn't develop and/or either weren't scouted correctly in the first place - that Saban might prefer Schuman to Pruitt for the following reasons:

1) Schumann is by far the #1 recruiter of ILBs in the nation.

2) Schumann is the best developer of ILBs

3) Not only do you help Bama but you hurt your primary rival in the SEC and for future Nattys

4) Schumann just recruited three stone cold studs out of HS in this 2023 cycle (Raylen Wilson, CJ Allen and Troy Bowles) - you know in this day & age of back-door recruiting of college players - Bama could create a bag and have the DC/ILB coach allure of Schumann for these three guys that already love him.

I would think Bama gonna throw the BAG at Schumann - hope I'm wrong.

Maybe he meant “not enough” rather than “not at all”?

Lawson is no shoe-in to be a starter under a new and hopefully competent DC and ILB coaches at Bama. I don't trust Golding to have developed any of the ILBs properly.

That's fair. I'd still prefer Pruitt over Schumann though. Pruitt would be another set of experienced eyes on the secondary and he can coach up the ILBs to an elite level.

Shaft, I am rooting for Bama & Pruitt - that’s a better option for UGA. I know he’s a good DC

If I could pick a DC for Bama, it would be “3rd & Grantham”. LMAO

It is telling that almost all of Burton’s biggest plays were occasions that protection or Young’s escapability allowed him to run across the width of the field deep for a reception. He can separate using his speed with enough time.

Spot on and the same observation GA fans were saying on the "in game" threads.

It would clean up some glaring deficiencies. I don't think he's the only man up for the job though but he is a logical choice as you enumerated.
